Hi, sorry to ask. I'm going on a plane for the 1st time next week and I'm absolutely terrified 😨. Why did the engine sound change once the plane had taken off? Thanks

Hi.... the engines need full power to take off and climb... once quite high less power is needed and the captain throttles back and the engines are working less hard. .. eventually at cruising altitude you can hardly hear them. Regards Paul
