1) Please pronounce Porsche correctly! The E at the end is pronounced. 2) Most of these 928's in the US have been unnecessarily modified with aftermarket alloy wheels and steering wheels. It's so great to see this one be saved. This has been my dream car since I was a kid the early 80's. Thanks.
OLD 928....now I feel real old! My Father bought a 924 when they first came out....

These are exactly the type of guys you don’t want working on any Porsche, much less a 928
Love the 928 body shape. Sexiest ever designed.
Don’t forget to change and adjust the timing belt, VERY CRITICAL on these cars! You should change the water pump at the same time. You’ll need a special timing belt tension gauge to adjust the belt, should be adjusted every 5k
These are GREAT cars, maybe the greatest Porsche has ever made! But they do require a lot of maintenance. The service Manuel come in a creat of loose leaf folders, these manuals are ABSOLUTELY necessary to do the work properly! I’ve owned a 1990 928Gt for 20yrs and know it inside and out! 3wks isn’t going to be enough time if you’re going to get it right! Have fun!

@Dan Scheper great car. We came across an 80' auto a while back. It's a survivor - needs all the vaccuum hoses replaced, as well as fuel lines etc, power steering leaks a bit, some minor oil leaks, suspension...but it's been one hell of a fun time building it up.
@Nick to check the cam belt its top dead remove rhs cover one bolt check and adjust its 5 mins work easy to do

the one guy was using a large screwdriver to remove the door panel. There is absolutely NO reason to use a screwdriver on the door panel. Everything is 10mm bolts or phillip head screws. I do use an "eyeglass" screwdriver for the round trim piece. These guys were hacks...Working on a porsche does require finesse...

Only nightmare here are the presenters.
I know this video is old. But, they have a 1994 GTS. All this chit chat about doing this and that. The first thing, the very first thing they should have done before even starting the car for the second time is to have inspected and replaced the timing belt. First thing. They are kind of showing their ignorance of the 928 platform by not doing that first.
928s were just about the First production super rcar. Today they would run over $100k new. Letting these idiots loose on one is boneheaded.

I had a 928 for about 3 hours because on the way home when I bought it someone decided to play darts with my car at Walmart
Well I went into Walmart right after getting the car and a few workers their saw the car and they must came back out with old dartboard darts and they scratched and keyed the car and they also punched a hole in all of the tires and the broke my headlights and taillights as well
I would hunt them down. Where was this and do you have enemies?

The best way to ruin the car is to sand it back to metal You've taken off the galvanizing which would stop the car from rusting EVER the bubbling part is on the aluminium panels and THAT IS CORROSION that grows extremely slow. Sand ONLY that and you'll still have a rust proof car NEVER EVER EVER sand a 928 to bare metal accept for the bubbles up areas.

Youd have rocks in your head to get into one of these. Pure junk. Nightmare cars in every respect. (Family owned a 1978 first edition then a 1982 S. Both were needy cars when new. But now? Forget about it!)

I’m a painter.. head painter.. sanding off old paint?! GTFOH... I could give you a tip that would blow your paint crew out the water and have it in raw metal by lunch with no special tools and not much work or mess, but guess what..... I like to keep idiots in suspense!
Please, what is the method? I have a 1980 928 5-speed that a previous owner sprayed on a thick layer of black paint. In many areas the paint could be just lifted off with a scraper. Removing all that paint is going to be a hideous mess. If there's a better way, please do tell. Perhaps publish a video and make some UA-cam money?

theses cars are basic i was a 928 mechanic for 15 years torque tube bearings to cam belts dash lights to fuel head warm up regulator pressure adjustments if you know the steps the work is easy i could do torque tube bearings in day rear end and box out and back in
