It amazes me how so many Sabres fans complain about how good Reinhart is now without taking in the lesson that this is the very reason we need to be patient and wait! Dylan Cozens had a better year last year than Reinhart’s standard season in Buffalo. We have to let all the young players learn and grow, and with the contracts we will be an incredible team for years. Peterka and a lot of the players have serious potential. Things happen when good young players grow into men.

JJ didn't have a sophomore Jinx.And his rookie season was almost as good period he's only going to get better but to say he's got a ceiling of connor garland is ridiculous

Adams should give JJ Peterka a 6 year 5.5 million deal and Jack Quinn a 3 year 4 million deal. Or match deals and set them up for a deal when they are in their mid to late 20s. Adams please get Bennett from Florida for your 3rd line.
I'll take Peca's word over Bulldog's. Peca called JJP a "unicorn" and worked with him every day.
That being said, no reason to give JJP a big contract. We've handed out the big contracts. He's got one more year left on his ELC and then is an RFA.
EDM gave Bouchard $3.9mm last year. NYR gave Miller $3.9mm.
BUF has no need to pay anyone big money now with Rosen, Kulich, Ostlund, Savoie, Wahlberg, R. Johnson all 1-3 years away, JJP, Quinn, Benson, Levi, etc can all take cheap RFA deals.....or be moved out and be easily replaced

there was 1 50 goal scorer (Ovi) and 3 40 goal scorers.
This season, Matthews almost hit 70 goals, 4 players scored at least 50 and 16 scored at least 40.
Scoring 30 doesn’t make you an elite goal scorer anymore.
If I were the Sabres' powerplay coach, I'd have Tage Thompson play the style of Tomas Holmstrom. With his size, he'd do a great job of blocking the view of the goalie - especially with one of the defensemen struggling to deal with him. Also - with his reach - he could get his stick on anything near the crease. With him there, the focus of the others on the PP with him will be on shooting, or at least putting the puck in front of the net. That's much more effective than passing to Thompson off to the side for his big shot, which the opposition has proven able to block.

Tuch should be the guy in front of the net. He’s big and physical. Thompson should play left defense on PP with Dahlin on right side.
And then Cozens on left wing and Peterka on the right. That would be a deadly power play with Tuch net front and everyone else in their off hand shooting side.
Mr Adams how can you trade out Mittles to Colorado (having a notable postseason). Add up other notable got aways & you have a mediocre GM at best. I don't blame pending UFAs for leaving this organization. Celebrating Skinners games played as a pro is all you need to know?
That was a good hockey trade and Bo Byram is a good player
Byram is the better hockey player. Higher ceiling too. Byram will be a top pair Defenseman for years. AVs needed a center badly because of Landeskog and Johansen. They would have much rather kept Byram. Both teams benefited from the trade but Sabres got the better for sure.

6 feet, 190 pounds is not small.
He’s already better than Garland lol. He’s 6 foot… and he plays his butt off!!!! Benson is 5’9 and throws the body and battles in front of the net… size of player doesn’t determine how they play really.
Peterka never gets knocked over, strong on skates, draws the other team in to the most penalties on the team, great wrist shot, scored 28 goals playing 12 minutes. Imagine if he played 20.

Insanity is having a shrimp 🦐 as your second line center that is injury prone, and gets moved around the ice like a tumble weed. Dylan ain’t physical and he’s unpredictable with his scoring. Grow a pair and trade him Kevyn Adams. We all know Dylan Cozens wouldn’t survive a shift against the Panthers first round of the playoffs lmao.
As for getting Tavares. Sabres have no true leadership or Captain material right now in the locker room. Sabres need someone with a clue how to at least be a Captain of a team that consistently makes the playoffs. And don’t even start with one of these kids taking the C. If Sabres want to make the playoffs they need a true leader and Captain in the locker room to get them their with true playoff experience.
It Ain't rocket science. Big changes are needed for this team. A team of kids needs to be ran by a competent Captain and a competent head coach.
