Going into the mechanics of how the stats influence a Champions' abilities is phenomenally helpful. Thank you for all the details. The very next time Plarium runs the free-gearing days, I'll be looking closely at all my top Champions' gear. I'm thinking I've got some changes to make! But the most important thing you said, and EVERY PLAYER needs to really HEAR this: 38:45 "Your roster will improve more quickly than your gear, [because] as you get new Champions, you need new gear pieces for those Champions, and that means you constantly need to be acquiring gear in order to gear any of the new Champions you've built. "But then you have a second part of it, which is: you have to improve the gear on the Champions you [already] have, to make THEM stronger... You need to get the most value out of the Champions that you already own." Otherwise, you are in an endless cycle of new, undeveloped and ungeared Champions who are joining old. under-developed, under-geared Champions. That may be good for Plarium, but it is not a fun place to be.
"Most of the time you don't need a new champ, but you need to get the best value out of the champs you already have ”. as a new f2p (82 days with only jintoro as leggo from sacred and basically no interesting epic so far) i was so disappointed with the last 2x ancient, but now I have a new focus. farm gears and get the best value out of my champs. I've been sitting in gold 1 arena for weeks now with artak, kael, deacon, and wukong. I’m thinking of building my spirit host for the incease attack and block debuff and maybe take out wukong, or build him as my nuker,. but the problem is he is also the only one I have for the magic keep shield.. anyway, thanks for the video, it does shed some light on some of my mistakes and I have now some ideas to play with.

This is a great vid they keep getting better I like where you have used 5* gear in some cases, I'm saving this vid for the next 100% free gear removal, I know where I'm going wrong but this has reminded me of areas I'm not taking serious. Thanks for taking the time to make this its a massive help.
@7oxalott_78 I'm glad you found the video helpful. Good idea for the next 1000% free gear removal event. I hope it comes back around quickly! Thanks for the comment!
Great content and video. I was stuck with my builds as a FTP with minimum gear and trying to build Champions for all content. Now concentrating on building champs for specific roles. Keep up the great work.
@InC_trL Good for you! That new focus should help you get more progress out of your account. Once you're further into the game, you may have access to better gear that will allow you to get even more utility out of your roster. Let me know how it works out for you!
ive been playing for over 4 years now. and my account has become extremelly stagnant mainly due to my gear issues. this video well help greatly. thank you !
@jeffjohnson5119 Gearing, regearing, and cleansing gear - it's a constant struggle in RAID. But it's also key to account progression. I'm glad you found the video helpful. I hope it helps you get unstuck!
Early to mid game, unless you actually have that god tier gear, a single nuker wont kill the enemy team in gold 2+. Decrease defense on enemy team, increase attack on Rae. Got helmsmasher, got Instinct (20% ignore) and 200% crit dmg. Just low'ish attack, so targets are left anywhere between 10 to 50%hp. Had to add secondary nuker as a hybrid Wukong (since he's my aura anyway) to mop the floor, so to speak. That's just my 2 cents when it comes to Wukong :P Even that doesn't help when Rae crits for 10k with her A2, so I've started using Gnishak in arena instead, since bombs ignore defense :)
@itsVilu I haven't found that to be the case. I agree that Wukong is a good setup man, which can certainly make life easier. Sometimes your drop defense champ can do a little damage when they debuff as well. You may find that if you can squeeze an extra 30-50% crit damage onto your Rae, that would be enough to get you over the hump. I wish you luck!
@@ColredPlaysRSL I think it will be better from now on. Just pulled Gorgorab and Spider. I was missing that TM boost with Increased attack, since I have no Seeker, Arbiter or Runekeeper. And Spider is a budged aoe defense down + weaken that can't weak hit. That opened up so many team compositions for me! :') Sadly it's only a 15% TM boost, so can't have him too far ahead in speed of my nukers (or need second booster or someone with 100% sleep/stun). But it's definately better than not having either! :)
@itsVilu Sounds like you're on your way. If you have a Deacon, he's a perfect pairing with Gorgorab. Deacon replaces Spider though as your drop defense. But that would give you 2 TM fillers at 15% each. Not perfect, but it may be enough until you get your Arbiter.
about gnut - yes relentless is what 18% chance?in a 4 piece set, wouldn't retaliation be a better choice? (15% in a 2 piece set. potentially 45% chance)
@jeffreyrayborn1871 Relentless and retaliation can both get you extra attacks, but they do so in very different ways. You need to consider those differences in order to determine which set will help your champion more. One big difference - your champion needs to be hit in order for retaliation gear to activate its counterattack. With Gnut, who has a decrease Turn Meter effect on his A1, it's more likely that you don't want the boss (FK or Spider, etc) to even get a chance to go. That means that counterattacks aren't going to happen. In that scenario, it's much better to have relentless gear, which doesn't require a hit to activate like retaliation gear does. Additionally, if you're trying to get back to a particular skill faster, like Gnut's A3, which hits like a truck, relentless will give you extra turns, effectively reducing your cooldowns. However, in a long fight where you will absolutely take hits, it may be better to have retaliation gear, especially on champs who have A1s with additional effects. For instance, if you are running Urogrim, who has a poison on his A1, in Demon Lord CB, you would prefer a retaliation set. Urogrim will certainly be hit with each AoE by the boss, leading to more counterattacks with his A1, thereby landing more poisons and doing more damage. Since you also want Urogrim speedtuned, you don't want to mess with his cooldowns, and so relentless gear would be a bad idea here. Both sets are highly useful, but you have to really consider the differences before you choose one over the other. I hope these examples clarify that. Thanks for the question!
@Toedju I'm doing alright, thanks for asking. I hope you're also doing well. I appreciate your suggestion, and we do try, when we can, to put time stamps on our videos. Some days our time-frame is so limited, we don't want to delay the video any longer than absolutely necessary. Besides, YT will automatically add timestamps after some times passes - like 72 hours or something. So, I apologize for not putting in timestamps, and I will try to do so in the future whenever I can. Thanks for the comment!
@davidbarratt8137 Yes, the great hall stats show up on your champions stats. You can actually hit the "i" button in the roster to get a breakdown of where each champion's stats are coming from.
@mattwilsonms For a go-first arena team, the most important goal is being properly speed-tuned. IF your speed tune allows your nuker to run under 200 speed and still be connected, then you're fine. However, the goal should be to get your fastest champion over 300 speed at some point. It could be very difficult to have a 300 speed Arbiter (say) and a 190 speed nuker and stay speed tuned.
For coldheart you dont really need 100% Crit Chance because her A3 has an extra 30% crit chance so technically you could bring her speed or dmg output a bit higher
So looking at this, if I were building say... Kael or Aothar or Frozen Banshee, these would also fall into the category of champs like the ones around @27:00?
@synxiec Aothar or Frozen Banshee would, yes. They need high accuracy, high speed, and good survivability. Kael is different, because he also does a lot of direct damage. In fact, it's better to consider Kael as a direct damage dealer who has the secondary role of poisoner. He needs ACC, but you still want him to hit hard in arena and wave content. This makes Kael a bit more stat hungry than the other starter champions. It also makes him the best clan boss damage dealer of the starter champions.
@@ColredPlaysRSL so full disclosure: I picked Kael as my starter. It's been wild trying to figure out how to build him "properly", but I'm getting there. Also just for your enjoyment: I took Genbo and changed a few things following the notes on this video and it gave his AoE attack like 15K more damage output. :)
@@ColredPlaysRSL indeed. once i get these folks around him in order, it's a wrap. I'm already going a bit further than I thought but UDK is still my mortal enemy.
@ingoschmidt5266 If you knew that you would be facing a Dec. Crit. Rate debuff, you could potentially build extra crit. rate onto your nuker for such a fight. But there aren't that many of those, and, in general, it's more efficient to just use a cleanse or block debuffs champion to negate the debuff rather than build your nuker with extra crit. Thanks for the comment!
@shockwavemantis101 Yeah, it takes some time to build up your speed. It also takes focus. Probably 80% of the gear I keep has a speed main stat of sub stat. Eventually, you'll get there. Remember, you can also add speed through area bonuses if you play live arena. That can help. And faction guardians can give speed too.
Great video as always but you lost me when you started talking about needing 260 minimum speed to stay in Gold 5. Idk what you're smoking but I stayed in Gold 5, never dropping lower, for over six months with a team all below 220 speed. Sometimes I think you underestimate just how easy PvP systems are in this game because you play so optimally and you usually exceed the minimum requirements by way more than you realise.
@SkittleBuk1 That's entirely possible. I'll see what happens on my new account over the next few weeks. My fastest champion is currently RKD at 250 speed, and he's clearly not as fast as I would like him. I'm still doing okay in Gold 2 atm, but I'm climbing very slowly. I do think that staying in gold V is easier than getting to gold V, so while you may not need the 260 speed to stay there, you may need the 260 to get there. Again, we'll see. Just to make sure - are you running a go-first arena team at 220 speed? Because I was specifically talking about a go-first team. Thanks for the comment! You've given me something to think about.
