The AH-1W is my favorite of all American attack helicopters. I like this particular version with two-bladed rotors.
Although the AH-1Z has become more perfect, it has become heavier, it has four-bladed rotors and the helicopter lost its former predatory magic of the famous light attack helicopter.

FOR THOSE LIKE ME WHO HATE STILL PIX IN VIDEO AND DON'T CARE TO SEE A GUY SQUATTING BY A MODEL THAT ISN'T DOING ANYTHING: The actual flying starts at 2:50. And the "shooting" starts at 6:25.
I love that turbine plane guys have to be right up on the plane in case of turbine mis-start or fire, the helicopter guys simply don't have the option.

Looking at about $10-15,000usd depending on model of turbine. You can easily find shell kits for $$2500 off ebay for smaller ones like the goblins or thunder tigers and run electric to make it cheaper but still have the look.

I’m trying to decide if the fact that it uses an actual turbine even though louder than the rotors detracts from cool factor or not. Still, I’m so damned jealous because it’s freaking gorgeous.

Cool helicopter. The flying and the lighting needs considerable work. Neither was scale and detracted from the scale appearance of the fuselage.
