Floyd Mayweather was, by far, the best athlete of the 2000's. I wrote a paper on this in college(boxers are the best athletes). Think about it. A boxer getting trained up for a fight.. does every other sport just to get ready. Swimming? A compnent of a boxers workout. Running? A compnent. Try to train for a fight. Tey to complete a 3 minute round with a real fighter. Boxers are the best athletes and Floyd was the best boxer.
I got a varsity letter in football and I was under 140. I never got passed the sparring phase of training in the Navy. And the Navy don't exactly have the best boxers in the world. So... I was not a world class athlete. I got to the pinnacle of high school football. Never even got passed the pre season in 3rd rate, C level boxing competition. Try boxing. Don't say what you think. Dance for 3 minutes, avoiding punches and trying to launch an attack while your dancing and dodging. Just try. Then come back and tell me what you think.

I agree the training for combat sports is more grueling. I’d much rather train for football than boxing or MMA (as far as easiness of it), but in the long run that football training makes you much more athletic. The average football player is faster, stronger, and quicker than the average boxer in day to day life
