Not trying to be a nit-picker but just an FYI. Subscription service existed way back into the silver age. They folded the books to put them in a paper sleeve and mail them back then which resulted in the many SA books with “sub-creases”. I had a subscription to Avengers and Captain Marvel in the late 70s when they were mailing them in a larger sleeve without folding them. The 40 cent covers around 1979 were when the first “direct” editions were published. This was to differentiate the comics being sold directly to comic stores and distributors from those destined to the newsstands. The newsstands could still return the books for credit, the direct distributors who got a better price could not and the publishers needed a way to differentiate the books between the two. Hence the “direct edition” was born. Great channel. Love watching you unbox those mega grails!!! Living vicariously over here.

Call me crazy, but... I just don't like Golden Age books... I think Silver Age books are better... way better art and way crazier storytelling... I'd choose 2 $5k Silver Age books over 1 $10k Golden Age (but hay, I get it... 1st appearance of the Riddler is still very cool) 😁👍

@momoonocollects that's easy... im a huge Spider-Man fan, so I would get Amazing Spider-Man 13 and 14 (in CGC 7-7.5 grades) 1st appearance of Mysterio and Green Goblin😎👍 Both Beautiful covers
I got my start in sales, which I highly recommend because you get paid for your performance, not your time. From there just spending a lot less than I made, focusing on investments, that really paid off for me. And I did have a digital asset lending business for a while that was fairly lucrative, but I've moved in from that and am now blessed to be in a position to make a go of it in content creation. That was a great acquisition! My only GA book is Marvel Mystery Comics #87 in cgc 9.4. highest on the census tied with one other book. What's the grade on that Action Comics #252?

My last purchase was JLA #53 in 9.4 from My Comic Shop but unfortunately I'm sending it back because I don't agree with the grade cgc gave it. Cgc has really falling off on their grading. I believe it's due to them just hiring people off the street to grade comics now!
