  • In this video, we take a look at one of my favorite packs from Tactical Tailor. I ran this pack during the basic survival class at the Pathfinder School in Ohio. Loaded up with 30+ lbs of gear, hiking lots of miles and improving skills over two and a half days. The performance was phenomenal. I will go more in depth about the class, my loadout and how the pack performed in a video about my Pathfinder Basic Loadout.

Great to see some love for this fantastic pack! Very few videos about it on YT. Seems to be the "best kept secret" of packs. Tough as nails, fits perfectly, highly customizable, and made in the US. Worth every penny.
Also have two of their Modular Operator Packs, a First Responder bag, Active Shooter bag, and a bunch of their pouches. Tactical Tailor's packs (and gear in general) are highly underrated, IMHO. Hope to score one of their RR5100 Malice packs down the road.
Hope to see more TT gear reviews down the road! Cheers.

would you stilll honestly rec this over say a kifaru?

I'm not sure if I would recommend this over a Kifaru. I just picked up some older Kifaru packs, but other then those I don't have alot of personal experience with them. But they are built to haul weight, so they would be able to handle anything.

Hey brother. I’m 5’6” with a 32 waist. Is this pack a good fit for someone my size?

I'm 5'9" 245 and it fits me well. So I'm sure you'd be fine.

I also own a Usmc ILBE. Is it almost the same size?

I think this one is about 60 liters and I want to say the ILBE is around 70. But I haven't owned on in awhile to say for sure.

GREAT review. I could not and would not pay the $300-400 for it. I might check eBay to see if I could get lucky like you did and get one for around $100 bucks. Anyway, I liked your no non-sense, non pushing review that I subscribed.

Thank you for the support. I always wanted one of these packs, but it was hard to pull the trigger at the normal price point. Granted it is made in America so naturally costs more. So far it's been a stellar pack and if you can score one of a deal even better!

i have one and can attest to Tactical Tailors quality. its a very well thought out ruck. you can put a pouch or two (like an ifak and something to hold a compass or tool) on the waist belt and works well in conjunction with a chest rig as a recce kit, or bug out kit. If you want to use this with a battle belt this ruck will present problems. My work around for my plate/belt set up is to form an "n" across the top to secure your belt. everythings a compromise, but thats about the only thing this pack suffers from

im sorry but any pack that does not come in several torso sizes, or with an adjustable torso length system, or both, isnt a pack i would consider. i also would not trust anything with that floppy of a waist belt with a serious load. a waist belt on a pack ment for heavy loads should be very ridged.

Well I've carried up to about 50lbs in it and haven't had an issue with the belt. But there's loads of options on the market for packs so I'm sure you can track down what works for you.
