Hey guys, great early ice video. I just wanted to give you a heads up on ice handling walleyes. Try not to handle walleyes with any kind of wool or winter gloves because it removes the protective slime off their scales and will cause them to develop a skin disease which will in turn cause illness and most likely death. If you need more info on this google it and there is plenty of info. Good luck this hard water season

@@MinnDakOutdoors Thanks, good chance our ice isnt good anymore, been freezing at night but temps keep getting in upper 30s and low 40s. Im in eastern South Dakota.
Do some more ice camping videos or try out big stone on the Minnesota South Dakota border go for some perch and huge gills

I went ice fishing yesterday and I live in south eastern Wisconsin. Somehow I found like 3 inches of ice on a pond and caught a few ( video on my channel)

Does the walleye not have razor sharp teeth up north ? Because in the south your thumb would have suffered some slashing, the way you placed your thumb into it’s mouth . A fish that sized in the south would have teeth about 1/8th of an inch long on the first walleye you placed into the bucket . And even larger teeth in much larger sized fish .
