Fantastic run Paul. I had a 99 Daytona 955i which I really miss. We spent some time at several tracks in the eastern US around 2000-2005. Take the Street Triple 675 or 800 as a beginner. Or maybe the new Trident. 😎👍 Great bikes too and quiet lighter than the Speedy. If you are taller than 6ft and over 100kg, then take the Speedy 1050 between 2010 and 2016 because of it’s higher torque. It’s easy to ride and not so aggressive as the newer ones. I’m 6,3ft and drive a Speed Triple 94 from 2015. I love it and it’s way more comfortable as the newer RS models. But that’s my opinion. 😉
@Jim Zucker I agree with Chrischan, don't start with a Speed Triple RS. Street Triple 660, 675R, 765S, 765 R or Trident are good starters. Street Triple RS 765 always ask you to go high rpm which brings you way too fast for a beginner. After like 2 years on a starter i'd go for a 765RS and 2-3 years after on a Speed Triple RS. It's an easy bike only if you ride calm. If you begin to ride fast, it's not an easy bike anymore and request experience.
Könnte man also theoretisch die gesamte Nordschleife mit meiner 125´er Vollgas fahren xD Der Vorderradlupfer am Flugfeld bei 250 hätte mir schon gereicht lol .. spätestens da wär mental Ende gewesen.
The latest Speed Triple RS is highly under rated however it's the most refined Speedy to date and although it lacks HP, Michael Rutter lapped it significantly faster than a 1290 SD at Donnington. Here's another video of an S1000r vs Speedy RS and in the comments section the guys talks about how good the Speedy is. ua-cam.com/video/FU_Jk7QnzVE/v-deo.html
i have a Speed RS 2019 and, after 21 years on hypersport bikes and 15 years on CBR 954RR and i must agree the SP3 is really really under rated. Once in its last % of his capabilities, it requires much from the rider and it's not an "easy" bike. You have to fight with it but, trust me, its behaviour in turns is like a train and once you understand how it works (the triple cyl requires time too), it gives you a huge amound of confidence and the 150hp/117Nm deliver all you need on roads or tracks like the Nurbürgring (which i ride too). On modern fast tracks, it would deserve 20-30hp and 2000 more rpm, what the 2021 should bring and what will stay useless on roads but good for fast modern tracks.
Whoa sexy ride. The bike pov videos are rarely uploaded for this track Suggestion: - can you use helmet cam next time - Any improvements to negate wind noise if possible Thank you...
