lol So Mack from Tar Heel Ants called me after he watched this video. He was in such a rush to get this order out to me (I was bugging him about it) he forgot to remove the paper towel pieces that he put inside the nestmate holes for when he painted the nest area. So I pulled them out with ease and now I have one of the nestmate holes being used. I will show what I am talking about in my next update video.
As far as the outworld connection. I don't like it being that high either. I feel like a gentle slope of the type III material from the hole into the outworld would be much better design wise. However there are some people that like to add sand to fill it up to the entrance level, so perhaps as an optional connection.
Mack actually spoke to me about that, I did not even bring it up. He said that in the future he may try to lower it, but there was a reason for him doing it this this time I believe. This is a brand new product, so I am sure Mack will appreciate good feedback. Just as long as it is good and not "jerky". lol
@@Bradimus1981 Yes we all should be able to take constructive criticism to improve products. I love his products but we do all have our preferences but Mack also has a reason he design it the way he does, or just has not had the time to re-evaluate all his products.
@@dragonsieu76 Like I said, he mentioned something about where he placed the entrance to the nest and why. I simply cannot remember what he said. Next time I speak with him I can ask him.
Video quality is looking good Brad. But, I would like some facetime with you in the videos more.
Pretty nest. Hope they do well and recover.
Thanks, they seem to be doing fine, but are being stubborn regarding their moving in. lol Which happens in most cases it seems.

The largest is placodops 01. The smaller placodops are 02 and 03. You probably have one of those.
I think it is poor practice to say that this is the largest species. I think the Myrmecocystus mexicanus are the largest. My opinion.
