Brilliant! I did 4 across the top, so much better, even love the loop idea . My Duvet came with the ties , just disliked the bunched up comforter in the corners this idea helped with it all.

This is a simple solution which might not be any issue for most of the people but for people like me who exercise wrestling while asleep, it is a great tips for having a good sleep which is essential for us.
Wonderful tips! I’m about three suggested videos in & going to keep going. Also, can’t believe this video is 4 years old. Looks very current - great marketing. I’ll check out your brand. Thank you!
Yes, I like this method better. And a good use for all those stray buttons that everyone seems to have in their sewing basket. Of course the only problem is lining up buttons with loops if you go beyond the corners to prevent middle sag.
Some older comforters are smaller. Also, ensure that your down comforter is correctly orientated in the cover correctly, they are rectangles so if they are in sideways you will have gaps.
Exactly! That is my problem! The duvet is larger, probably Calif king and my comforter is king. There is a lot of extra fabric on each side! AND I do have it in the correct way.
I need to disagree with you on the statement that it doesn't "fall up", so to speak. The issue with my duvet is that the down comforter inside keeps bunching up at the TOP and my feet are left with just the thin duvet cover over them. I wind up needed to pull the whole thing off the bed, grabbing the top corners, and shaking it out to get everything back into place again. In any case, this video has been very informative and given some great advice/ideas for how to combat this problem. Thank you! :)
Thanks for watching the video - I am not sure understand what is taking place with your comforter and duvet cover... If you can offer some more details, I would be happy to look at this closer. We have found that gravity pulls the down comforter at the end/foot of the bed (water fall off the foot of the bed).
I totally get what riseofthefallenone is saying. Years ago, my mom told me to use diaper pins to hold the corners in place. So that every time you fluff up and shake the comforter the comforter stays put and just looks better. I used to fight with it slipping all over inside and bunching in the middle until I began securing all the corners. I like this tie method.
I suppose diaper pins can work, however as a word of caution, insure that you pin them on the outboard edge of the comforter, not inside any of the compartments where the down resides, as this hole can open up over time and down can/will escape. As far as securing it in all 4 corners, this certainly will not hurt anything. We just have never found this to me an issue - that being, the comforter creeping up. If this is happening, take a look at the sizes of the comforter and duvet cover to insure the comforter is not too small or that it is orientated properly in the duvet cover. Most of these items are rectangle, if the comforter is in side ways you will have excess fabric on the sides of the duvet cover.
Yes, it so annoying when it happened during room cleaning, I feel so mad about it, but the solution is very simple sometimes cannot think. 😅 Definitely gonna try it.

Ones from Asia have buttons all around the insode of the duvet and the silk comforters have loops. Of course all purchased from the same company. But I switch around and use my Target comforter with my Calvin K duvet - drives me nuts!

Very interesting. But, I’m not sure just attaching ties at one end will keep the comforter in place as well, but a shake or two should correct that. Having to tie the cover at both ends and possibly sides would be a real PITA, too! Good inexpensive project.
Some tie them at the foot, but they don't fall up, they only fall down. The comforter generally doesn't shift from side to side. So we have found tying them at the head of the bed is all that is necessary. Thanks for watching.

I would use Velcro. The one with the adhesive on one side n the Velcro on the other side. I’d put them on both ends n the middle n top n bottom. Just sayin’...so it won’t slip out or bunch up. 😬

Just use safety pins to pin the corners (or edges) together before flipping the duvet cover onto its right side. Although over time this will cause damage to your cover.

That's a lot of Sewing ! ...... Why not just run a Stitch of Yarn (or two) , through the Spot you want it to Stay and Tie a Bow Knot ? ... Align , Stitch , Stitch , Tighten , Tie , Done ! ... Just Pull it apart for washing ....... Same as putting on your shoes 8 Times !
We suppose this will work, however if your washing your duvet cover (or down comforter) once or twice a year. Over time we think our option might be a time saver and your method may end up damaging the fabric in the area you are securing. Chris the problem with using safety pins is that they have a small diameter and there can be stress or tension placed on both the area where the items are pinned. Over time this can open up the fabric causing damage. If the pins are secured inside the down comforter chambers, down will leak out of these holes. The method I describe in my video is more robust than safety pins and if made as I describe will not cause damage to the duvet cover or down comforter. Nonetheless, thanks for watching our video.
Brilliant! I did 4 across the top, so much better, even love the loop idea . My Duvet came with the ties , just disliked the bunched up comforter in the corners this idea helped with it all.

what do you think has changed in duvet covers in the last 6 years
You could also sew buttons on each corner, and looped strings on the other side and button it easily.
Yes you can...
Yes, I like this method better. And a good use for all those stray buttons that everyone seems to have in their sewing basket. Of course the only problem is lining up buttons with loops if you go beyond the corners to prevent middle sag.
Done it, but it still sags down from the top of the duvet cover and falls towards the bottom.
@@wife2sp he said to remedy this put a third loop in the middle top of the duvet. I have this problem too.
How do you solve the problem of the duvet cover always being much larger than the comforter - even if they're both the same (king) size?
Some older comforters are smaller. Also, ensure that your down comforter is correctly orientated in the cover correctly, they are rectangles so if they are in sideways you will have gaps.

The problem with Velcro is that it will collect loose strings sometimes found on the inside of a duvet cover.

It seems like duvet covers are a PITA.!
They are a little more work than a blanket, but they are so light and warm that most people prefer them to other top of the bed covers.
I don't know how to sew, is super glue gonna work?
Likely not...
Try watching a sewing tutorial video. This is something very easy you can do sewing by hand, I mean, without a machine. Good luck!
Just use safety pins to pin the corners (or edges) together before flipping the duvet cover onto its right side. Although over time this will cause damage to your cover.
