Love the small loft! I want something similar for a small number of birds. How many does it hold? What made you put it so close to the house? Any problems with mice or other rodents?
This loft started with 6 birds, but now down to 3. It’s been working good, but with the birds maturing I’m starting to see some aggression. I know the length is 3ft but forget the height and width. Probably around 2ft in width and 3ft in height? I’ll go out and make a video of it one of these days. It’s right next to the house for a couple of reasons. One is so it doesn’t draw too much attention from neighbors and 2 so I can see it right from my sliding glass door without having to step outside. I also have a few cameras setup and it’s conveniently next to the outlet. No mice or rodents yet! I’m using 1/4” hardware cloth for the vents and 1/2” for the inside. There is a pullout board to catch the droppings. I make sure to keep the area as clean as possible. I scrap about 2x daily. I find it easier to do it multiple times vs letting it pile and build up. I hate a dirty loft! If you just want to keep a pair of birds to fly or breed out of this setup will work great 👍 Idea for this loft came after seeing a friend keep a pair of birds in a rabbit hutch 🐇
I actually tried that but the almond never returned with the other two. Being it's first time out and getting chased like that must have really spooked the bird! The almond actually came back 2 days later to my surprise. I really thought it was done for! 🙏😁🕊️
@@NE_Pigeons I just got 2 yesturday for $30 male n female... It's a shame we can't do anything Abt this hawks... But I im dealing with stray cats.... They got me once but never again...I brought a trap cage at harbor freight.
Your place is very beautiful, I recommend you talented Turkish thumblers and , Turkish oriental roller pigeons, if you can find these birds there, it will give you real pleasure

Red tails barely stand a chance. Glad it wasnt a cooper, they are very swift and aggresive
I was shocked! First time I’ve seen a redtail go after a pigeon
He look like a nice little bird let the other ones out maybe he'll see them and come around
