I'm getting a lot of algae, such that my water is green. Will weekly hydrogen peroxide treatments prevent this? Is algae a significant problem?

      Hello,
Algae is a bit of a constant battle in hydroponics. Some amount of it is normal but you want to avoid algae blooms. weekly hydrogen peroxide treatments can certainly help with this and will also increase the ORP of your nutrient solution. The danger is that H2O2 is phytotoxic if dosed to high; we generally recommend 3-5ml of 5% H2O2 per liter of nutrient solution.
We also use hypochlorous acid, which isn't phytotoxic, on a weekly dosing schedule to help with algae, ORP, and reduction of scale in the system.
