You know how sometimes a song just grabs you and you can't do anything, near paralysed, but listen to it. For almost an entire flight from Dubai to Paris I listen to this song on repeat. One of the best flights of my life ;)
This song kills me... love it. It's not quite regret, but more that question of where you went and did you miss out on the real bond that you might have had. Makes me think of past good relationships. Those what ifs.
If by talking over a song you mean singing a refrain, then I don't know what you're on about it - there is clearly a refrain at the end of this song - and the audience participating is part of what makes it special - Leslie has been playing it as the final encore on virtually every show of her 'Metals' tour - sounds like she doesn't mind it all.
@Ratchetbg85 Haha, as soon as she said I checked Gun and Roses for the original and found nothing.. I'd give this song every respect possible as it's close to being my favourite :) Feist is amazing ,, even to teenage ears xx
lovely song. it might need all the lights dropped and a nice projection of a baby learning to walk or something. The post MTV generation needs visual cues that something emotional is coming. They are that detached. That said, this would become the artistic goal, and fun to finally master. You'd have them in the palm of your hand.
@DeshadCato They absolutely paid to be there, and she is making some of that money. It's an intimate song and cheering isn't the way to show that you're enjoying the song. I didn't pay anything to go to a funeral, but is it appropriate for me to cheer out in the middle of the eulogy? Plus read the comments about the out of key singing toward the end. Those people are ruining the experience for those around them.
Hi Stephanie, do you still have this video? If so, would you be willing to post on a google share drive so I could get it? I'd really appreciate it. Thank you.
@DeshadCato Should we assume that you're refering to a classical music concert too? I enjoy Vivaldi and I pay for listen and watch a performance by a great orchestra, so I'm allowed to scream and whistle when my favourite part comes. I don't think so. It's completely fair to ask for some silence in a concert of two hours long. Besides, I pay to listen my artist, no to that crowd in every song. And finally: what a gorgeous voice!!!!!
man shes so fucking good. I feel so bad for her, she got popular and now she has to play for thousands of screaming fools who only know her for like two of her songs. All my idiot friends rag on me for listening to "that one chick who sings on that ipod commercial". Used to try to argue but whats the point? Theyre the ones missing out on the best female vocalist this decade. Poor bastards
@ralenfishsticks i know that most artistst would rather play a show for 20 ppl who understand their music than a hundred assholes who dont and yes ALOT of idnie bands have sold out to have thier music played in commercials, unless your those free credit score guys, i highley doubt they wrote their music with the intention of having it played in a ipod commercial
@Ratchetbg85 I would hope she's not mocking the people that pay her and give her the attention that every artist craves... I don't want to think Feist is a pretentious diva
2024. This helped me stay alive. I'm grateful. Love always.

+Sienna Dangerous I was the same as this but with Anti-Pioneer!
Minneapolis to Taipei - same "hear came the heat wave - a merciful save..."
I used to listen to this song on repeat while doing the hour drive to work...
Well said, this song is a flight to elsewhere itself...
ive played this for years
i don't understand why anyone in the audience would talk over this song. it is amazing.
love it.
My favorite female vocalist of the past decade. Such a wonderful texture in her voice. Such a spare and powerful delivery. Big love.
She's a goddess. If music really is the spirit of the age, she made the cut. That's why we literally worship musicians.
i get chills every single time
What i would do to watch this live, she's absolutely fantastic! Her voice is just so haunting and original.
this has to be the best version i have ever heard of this song live! love love love it! thanks so much for posting this!
I love what she does in 2:36. She's totally inside the music there. Wow. I wish I had half her talent.
This song kills me... love it. It's not quite regret, but more that question of where you went and did you miss out on the real bond that you might have had. Makes me think of past good relationships. Those what ifs.
Resonated with me in that way too.
Beautiful ... Singing from her heart
People talk over this song? Are you serious? But it's one of my favorites... and the end of the performance was so powerful. Amazing.
She is such an AMAZING person, just performs effortlessly and doesn't even break a sweat... It's a testament to her artistry
best female vocalist ever
She is so beautiful..... sends many shivers down my spine....
Such an enjoyable song. Makes me calm. Reminds me of so much. Merci Mademoiselle Feist. Sehr gut.

This song is so powerful
thanks for posting!
@filicabral Man, thank you so much for that information. I really loved The Black Sessions!!!
Its been 12 years without finding any reference of this GEM in the G&R Discography ! Is there anybody out there with the key to this riddle ???

Let's all stop arguing and enjoy how fucking amazing this woman is.
Dira diraaa ♪
Why did she say it was a guns and roses cover lol that threw me off….
Love this song so much ❤
@gakmen I'm afraid you're mistaken, it's a Guild...but I don't know which one
it's official. i'm head over heels for lesley feist
Does anyone know the original song from the Guns and roses? As she says it is a cover... but I can't find which song she covers..
nice
her voice. her fucking voiceeeee. this performance affected me
@Ratchetbg85 Haha, as soon as she said I checked Gun and Roses for the original and found nothing.. I'd give this song every respect possible as it's close to being my favourite :) Feist is amazing ,, even to teenage ears xx
i think they simply missed the like button. there's absolutely no other possibility in my opinion :)
@Ratchetbg85 I don't understand - can you explain, please? thanks.

She is soooo amazing. Does anyone have any idea what kind of guitar that is?
It´s a GUILD semi hollow guitar. It is a remake of the good old Gibson ES 335.
Anyone can explain me : "this is a gun's and roses cover, by the way" @ 2:30 ?
She seems a little agitated by a certain irreverent portion of the audience and tosses that in to expose them. And they cheer.
@Mavrakakis: what exactly is the meaning of "miss out on you"? i´m not a native english speaker so i can´t catch it. thx in advance

I know this video is ancient, by internet standards but I love this better than a original. Also, who the fuck talks during a performance like this?
😃
YO quiero que venga al Peru :)

Did I, did I? (yes, I did)
@titass420 thats what happens when you sell out, but its ok, its what indie bands are best guna be know for

That's a Shure mic. To her right.
whoever disliked this is carazay
Dumb crowd cheering over "you" at the end, the best part of the song...😡
I know! I can't stand that people would talk during it.
Feist
The "Did I's" are awkward as fuck.
FUHK!
People singing in the end, horrible... ruins the song for me.
