2:15 I think the reason for this is since you are technically dead any existing aggro of a hostile mob that would be applied to you is instead "forgiven" so to speak & since you are dead for inf. amount of time this basically makes it so from the mobs point of view you are already dead & therefore there is no point to attacking you.
true
Sounds like Diavolo infinted death loop
like the ant pheromone
"I don't think he can fight anymore." *dies*
Basically, The game thinks you’re dead because NaN is neither less or greater than 0 (Resulting in confusion) so the game just sticks to killing you, but it also thinks you’re alive (Just like what I said) so it will keep you alive but since it detected your death first, it puts your state in “Dead” even though you can move
Mobs have this little bubble which determines their sight so they can see and hurt you
but that only works if your state is “Alive”
I remember hitting a mob and somehow setting it's health to NaN on bedrock edition. It started acting just like on Java, but the effect was visible from the player's perspective. I think I was using mods and did so much damage I broke the integer limit.

@@masterkian7561 yes
You can't. But you can still defeat it. You can just use frog. Frog doesn't kill. It despawns mob. The difference is that killing is reducing to zero HP by damaging entity making it do it's kill reaction and then despawning it. Kill effects are for example dropping loot, death animation or player respawn. Despawning is telling the game that this mob does not exist anymore so it removes it and repurposes the space for future mobs that will spawn. If you despawns mob literally nothing except getting rid of the mob will happen.

i find the character shaking when they die such a cool thing for no reason
I remember a server where all items were allowed and everyone could use creative mode in a flat world (basically do anything but destroy what others build).
Glitched item PvP was really popular and an arms race ensued so new ways to survive longer/kill faster were found monthly.
It was found that if you have attribute max health negative inf and positive inf your health would be set to NaN and thus putting the player in this state of invurnerability. The only way to get out of it was creative killers (banned on the server), no one could be killed in the state so it almost made the craft die out on the server.

i think what a lot of people dont get is that technically characters are numbers, a "char" in c or c++ is effectively an 8 bit number.
Yeah, but practically, they’re not numbers to C++. Honestly, I am surprised that the game didn’t crash, because hp was supposed to have float value, not char

"You're dead but you're alive"

"A deaf man that can hear"
"A mute man that can speak"
Man this would be good for mods especially Origins but i really hope that it’s possible in minecraft pe and also possible to add another orgins to OriginsPe since OriginsPe is the closest thing to the origins mod on java
I remember there used to be a bug on PE, (I think after it merged with bedrock) where if you killed a mod and then healed it before it poofed away, it would just walk around red and sideways
It looks like the conditions for is dead and is alive are both being being met at the same time.
NaN is how floating point values label a result of an invalid operation, like division by 0. it doesnt mean literally "not a number", just that the output doesnt have a conclusive answer.
Funny that setting your health to NaN essentially makes you even more undead than the literal undead mobs in the game
you can do that glitch, half 1hp, put a button, at the left of button, dispenser with instant health, at the right put instant dmg, then activate at same time while in middle
Wifies would be proud. You survived /kill, the void, and weirdness of this block game
Can you try and see if the warden (which is blind) can hear you?
Wait, shouldn't /kill set your health to 0, effectively overriding the NaN value's property of staying the same unless it is changed to a specific value?
i think it doesnt set your health to 0, it just does a big amount of damage
It doesnt set your hp to 0, it just deals 3.4×1038 damage
I love how when he gets no hitbox the mobs kill him but when he has no health they dont even know he is there
this is funny, but i was experimenting something in my world. i replaced the skeleton's weapon with a totem of undying (i used a command block to do this, with the replaceitem command), and set the delay in ticks to 20 (20 is 1 second per delay), and then tried to kill every single one of them. some skeletons were dead fr, but some skeletons are nan. it's a really crazy experiment. (try to use the summon command to spawn a skeleton every 5 seconds (100 is 5 seconds per delay))
This happened to me when playing a modpack(1.12.2 mc eternal), not sure how but it did.
it resulted in me not being able to do anything.
If its possible in nbt editor try changing health to positive or negative infinities
There's a limit I think, 64 bit I gess. So outing infinity would probably overflow or something
@@DatBoi_TheGudBIAS I believe that health is stored as a float, which has values to represent infinities.
This is what zombies go through.
Wow impressive it didn't simply threw a weird exception and crashed
TLDR: NaN is fun and interesting and using it for your HP essentially puts you in biblical Limbo.
NaN is a really interesting concept that only works with floats (such as Minecraft HP) - NaN actually IS a number, it just can't be represented in a way that the human brain can comprehend. It's sort of like the mathematical constant _i_ - in fact, if you try to take the square root of -1 in floating point math, you will get NaN. It just means "This value cannot be represented, however it can be the result of math so we will call it 'not a number' and hope the developer knows something went wrong." Your health displays as empty because the game can't find a number to display health with, as NaN doesn't round to any integer, or an integer + 0.5. But there is technically a number there, and since it's not zero or negative (in this scenario, NaN is like "the everynumber" it is both positive and negative, it is nothing and infinity, all at once) the game decides you're still alive. You can interact with blocks (breaking and placing) because you're technically not dead (because you do technically have HP) but you can't pick them up because the game can't find a valid entity in pickup range - after all, you don't have any HP, right? :3
it's not positive or negative, or nothing, or infinity - all comparisons with NaN return false. personally I think of it sort of like 0/0 - an indeterminate number that isn't really anything and you can't do maths on it
@@thevalarauka101for you, computer have to find something it cant be a 0/0, you can say its a 0/0 but for computer it is every possible number and none at the same time as unless you tell it to only do so, it will never get you a 0/0 (but like i said, if you make one that is made to handle NaN then the mschine will tell you that it is similar to a 0/0)

you wont let me live, you wont let me die
Of course the zombies dont attack you when youre undead
this happens because of how mc calculates death. if your at less than 1 you die, but if your not at 0 clearly you are alive. by default health is 20 but it cant fill that as you cant do operations against NaN and when you first spawn in it doesnt actually set your health to 20, it adds 20. so its in limbo between 0 and 1 and this is impossible to the system, so its trying its best

It’s killing yourself so fast it’s overwriting the death screen from playing and it’s doing that infinity
The NaN health works on bedrock edition without editing anything and will work if you /kill yourself while youre holding a totem because instead of healing the alive player it heals the dead body at the last tick and your hitbox becomes 1 block because when you die you fall to the ground and you become invisible it also works in multiplayer and you will become invisible but if you wear any armor it will be visible to others but your body will stay still but in your perspective youre a ghost that means you can move around but the other players perspective youre just standing there you can also open specific blocks and interact whats inside of them and you can not pick up any item but you can switch through your hotbars and items and you can damage any mob as long as the mob is standing in front of your other body(the one standing still) you can also open doors but the other players cant see them open so yeah explore some more stuff if i missed any and the other rest is just like java edition for example the /kill yourself while youre a ghost doesnt work but shows up in chat and its just mostly like java edition
