Hey brother do you think it makes more sense for the Eagles to pick a corner with pick 22 then a linebacker and a offensive lineman in the second round with the 2 picks we have there or do you think we just take the best players available regardless position .. I have a lot of respect for your insight between your evaluation of players and your talent at coaching x's and o's you know your stuff brother

What’s up MMA Basement! In most cases, I’m a believer in best player available. With that said, I do get why people are concerned long term at corner. Past this season, that grouping is a pretty big question mark.
Now, when it comes to the LBs, I think Howie and the Front Office has to analyze if they feel that a Payton Wilson or a Edgerrin Cooper are central pieces to their defense. If you think one of these guys could have the affect on our scheme that Derrick Brooks had on Tampa, Urlacher had on Chicago, or Kuechly had on Carolina, I think you target that player.

To be honest, I don’t really know what we’re gonna do at corner. I really want to give Ringo a shot. I think he could be really good. He has all the tools and makings to be a good corner in this league I assume that they are going to draft the corner at some point in the first three rounds only because I do not see James Bradberry on this roster by the end of June and I think a telltale sign would be a free agent corner, signed, or draft corner high I know we also have too much talent to mess around and see if these young corners can develop but I really think some of them are going to be able to produce for us at some point and not just a little bit but at high rate of production

can josh sweat flourish in a 3-4?

The eagles already run a 3-4, they run a 3-4 over

@@richardrichards4233Kinda bc the 5man fronts stuff. More specifically we run okie fronts which originates from the 3-4 but 4-3 defenses can also run it (49ers). We do both, you’ll see 1 off-ball LB sometimes when we’re in 5-man fronts or you’ll see 2.

@Obie_24 thank you, have been trying to explain that even though people say that fangio runs a 3-4, the truth is that it's a multiple front offense with a 5 man front in base formation, and not a traditional 3-4

What’s up Henny! Yeah, he’s already played some 30 front. Vic Fangio’s fronts are not schematically that different from Gannon or Desai. The biggest difference really is Desai, Gannon, Brandon Staley, Joe Berry, and even Clint Hurtt in Seattle, those guys ran more “Penny” ( A lot of folks refer to it as a 50 front) than Vic has in the past.
However, while Vic relies more on four man fronts to stop the run at times than his protégés, we will still him use that Penny front on early downs, and when he has an opponent backed up, or if an opponent is in the deep red zone.
Now, in his fronts, he’s very multiple. At times what looks like a 40 front, is really a 30 front.
An example would be how he played his NT as a 0, 0 shades, or 1 tech. Then, he would have two ends in a 4i (inside shoulder of tackles). To the strong side, he would have a SAM backer on-ball and overhanged. On the opposite side, he would have a STAR, Money Backer, or LB off-ball by a yard or two. Visually, it’s easy to confuse this as a 40 front. But by the alignment, it’s a hybrid 30 front.
The formation I described above looks really similar to Vic’s Penny front. However, in Vic’s Penny front, his ends are in a 4T alignment two gapping, and he has 2 overhangs instead of one. Very similar, but those differences mess with QB, Centers, and OC’s minds.
Basically, Josh is one of the best athletes on the team. Meaning, he can stand up as an overhang. In addition, he has one of the longest arm reaches and wingspans on the team too. Which means he’s pretty effective with his hands in the dirt, aligned as a 5T, 4T, or 4i.
