    Different sports what you just said should never be compared, technique is important in this sport because improper technique means he cheated to lift it. In sprinting on the other hand technique is not punished because the sport requires getting from point A to point B regardless how big/tall/short you are and regardless any differences in technique.

    @dan7edan7e All supports actually slow you down, and that is why they generally decrease performance in weightlifting. Weightlifters generally only use supports when they have pain in the joint (knee wraps, knee warmers, wrist supports), or need extra support with maximal weights (belts).

    Mr. Rezazadeh is the best Olympic lifter (in super heavyweight). It is a mix of techniques and strength.
    When it comes to pure strength, there are many in the world to beat him easily (see below).
    Strength can of course be measured in many ways. Instantaneous power, strength over time (year after year, for example. Mariusz Pudzianowski), different stages, repetitions strength.
    However, Olympic weightlifting is NOT a measure of pure strength.

  • @OlyGoal
    @OlyGoal 11 років тому +1

    Cmon man, its the lift that is being judged, not just getting the weight overhead. They used to have the Clean and Press but it was removed. This is the clean and jerk, so they need to jerk the weight, not press it.

  • @ForAll23
    @ForAll23 12 років тому

    Aha, I was out of space and forgot to remove "(see below)", but I did mention Mariusz Pudzianowski.
    To name a few others: Brian Shaw, Žydrūnas Savickas and Mikhail Koklyaev. The latter is also an incredibly weight lifter (OL).

    This is a push jerk. It still counts as a jerk. If it were a press, you would not see the weightlifter's kness bend. There are several olympic weightlifters that use this style. A split jerk is what you are probably refering to. Either is correct form. For the record, pressing this amount of weight would be a record in itself.

    mariusz personal best squat is close to 800, and his best deadlift is around 900.
    I think reza probably has a shoulder press for sure than mariusz.

  • @OlyGoal
    @OlyGoal 11 років тому

    It was clearly a pressout. In olympic weightlifting during a jerk the elbows must be locked out in one smooth motion. Ie it has to be snappy & the elbows have to stay locked out. Many lifts are disallowed due to pressouts.

  • @barath4545
    @barath4545 13 років тому +1

    Its not so much how strong he is and how impressive it is. Its more the speed and fashion he got up off the floor after the WR! Bloody athletic speed. I liked him back when he was so strong and not hugely obese like he then became. Today I just wish Behdad was beat the 263 and then the 266, and then officialize his 217 so we can get the 1980s records off the board.

    Not really, no. It's one of the most complicated, without a doubt. Personally, I don't think you can put the label "World Strongest Man" on anyone. The WSM competition really is as close as you can get, cuz it tests the athletes in so many different forms.

    I disagree. Pressing the weight is actually way harder in most cases, it's dumb to say it's cheating. In the C&J, the only judging crieria should be getting the bar up from the ground to a locked position above the head. In my opinion, at least.
