In the UK we have a huge Roast dinner on Christmas Day - turkey, beef, ham, roast potatoes, parsnips, carrots, sprouts, Yorkshire pudding, broccoli and lots of gravy ( also pigs in blankets which is sausages wrapped in bacon) . We have Christmas pudding, trifle and mince pies for desserts followed by coffee and after dinner mints. Then we collapse on the sofa for the rest of the day 😂 Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 🎉
I saved this video to watch, rather than just listen to. Glad I did. I love your dining room. Perfect pairing of the wall sconces and that picture. I do think shorter candles would look absolutely stunning! At first I thought the wall sconces were oil lamps. I'm glad you kept them.
Could you look for an attractive armoire for your front living room that could garage all of the bowling bags? Sometimes thrift stores will sell those big ones that used to house the big chubby television and then other big components below. Many were very beautiful cherry wood or maple, etc.
Love those squirrels... The whole house is decorated, menu planned, shopping done, presents wrapped, now all I have to do is bake some cookies and call it Christmas. Merry Christmas Jodi...
Good afternoon, Jodi! 👋 Edit: being busy seems even more busy and tiring when a cold arrives to accompany the busyness. Looks good again in the dining room. Yes, it's amazing how fast the clutter & dust build up! Cobwebs... Yes they just seem to do that. Bowling, vball, band ( jazz or otherwise)... Yes, I remember the fun with it. My week? Um, catching up on what wasn't getting done.😅 The quilt for baby girl has all front squares into rows ( except the last one) with the "filling" for each row & backing rows are also sewn . Next step is the final row assembly. Then all front rows sewn together, followed by back rows and finally the edging and any "quilting " to hold them from slipping around inside when washing & drying.... That's my goal before January. Quilting turns clothing/ cloth/ batting/ blankets clutter into a finished product. If I get all that done I will see if I have enough to do a few matching pillows... But that remains to be seen. As I do all of it using my fingers, 📍📍📍, 🧵 and 🪡 with ✂️ no sewing machines or rotary stuff for these. These are done as my ancestors would have done. Are they perfect? NOPE! are they fancy or pretty? Probably not. But they are created with love, many hours of my time, and memories of the clothing and materials with my children. Are all the memories good? Nope! But they are part of the lives we shared together. That's all I can do. I would rather have many visible mistakes for my family to see because it reminds us that none of us are perfect and none of us can hide behind a facade. Our imperfections are what others remember in old age with fondness because love perseveres through troubles, trials and imperfectness. ( Ok. Soapbox put away😂) I guess we'll see you when we see you. 😅 Thanks, Jodi, for sharing your enthusiasms with us. Your family has no idea what a blessing it is to have you there and sharing your imperfectness when so much "fake perfect" is there. I'm far from perfect and id rather be friends with someone like you than someone who is so fake in their perfectness. You are the same all the time because you DON'T feel the need to be that "fake perfect" that's a complete lie.... Knowing you aren't perfect either is a RELIEF! Thank you.
Oh my gosh I'm sitting here watching your video and you said have you done any banking, I was like why is she asking about banking? Turn it down on me you said baking. I think I'm losing it lol😅😅
Yes such a busy busy month my daughter made the volleyball team (8th grade) and state competition for Cheerleading this Saturday (4 days b4 Christmas) 😮💨 but like you I wouldn't trade it for anything!
My project this week was making buckeyes, it is a candy common to Ohio, which is where I grew up. It’s peanut butter and chocolate and sooo delicious. My husband wanted to take some in for his coworkers so I couldn’t say no. ☺️
We are doing a big pot of beef stew for Christmas with cornbread. I'm sure others will bring random dishes also. Sort of a pot luck thing. We have it at my brother's house (the bachelor who doesn't decorate) lol. But his house is just more roomy for it. It will be my mom, dad, step mom and brothers and their familys. I love that we all still do everything together and the parents are willing to celebrate together. We do all the holidays together. My granddaughter has more great parents alive than grandparents. Hope you and your family have an absolutely wonderful Christmas and a blessed New Year 🎉
I painted our 20 year old hutch this past week. We moved and its darker wood stuck out with the lighter pieces we were buying…and the hutch I wanted was over 5K so of coarse I tried paint! Took me days. Got everything washed too before putting it back in! So I know you put in some work with yours! LOL. Merry Christmas to yours!
Hi Jodi. Love the video. Merry Christmas to you and the family. Love the chandelier. We are having turkey and beef for Christmas late lunch 2 ish . I still have some wrapping to do too x
I like the new sconces with the picture. I think you should get shorter candles in a red color to match a flower color in the picture. It will be festive since red is a Christmas color.
Hi Jodi, your dining room looks great! The pic & scones are great with the pic on the wall! Wow to all the sports things you go to! I did that too. My kid's had bowling also. We bowled too! But they had soccer all 4 & in summer baseball, all of them in that! They won a bunch trophies each. So we had a lot. So when each one left home they didn't seam to want them. I had a box for each of their things & they took some things. But not all. I'm more the nostalgic than most of them. My youngest daughter is more nostalgic now than she use to be. But she gets my Mom's tiny child size, rocking chair, it's over 100yrs old my mother got it when she was 1yr & she was born in 1910! Also she gets a picture album from my mom's mother's family! It's a very old album, with a lot of people in it that I don't know. My Mom told me when I was young but never wrote it down. So that's it. The others kids get a few things if they want it. I have a few porcelain dolls & china & a hutch similar to yours, but mine has glass doors & lights. I love it! You can come clean it for me! LOL! A shelf I'm using that my older daughter wants she made it in school! So some things they want! But no trophies! We're probably going out to eat. I'd like ham to eat not sure what my husband will eat! Since I don't get around very well it'll be easier to out to eat! I'll be 75yr the end of Dec. My husband is 77yrs old so it's that time of life that we don't do a lot of things! The kids are in different states & others to far away! They're doing their own things! So have a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Love ya! ❤️☺️🫂🐾🎄🎅🏻🤶🏻🥧🌬☃️❄️🎉✨️
Today (Sunday) is our pre Christmas cleaning day. I am currently procrastinating and eating cold juicy mangoes for breakfast. We are lacking motivation as we faced the stores (and crowds) yesterday for the last minute bits and pieces, apart from groceries which will be collected on Tuesday as it’s mostly fresh produce. I haven’t started wrapping - we will probably/hopefully do that tonight. Tomorrow (Monday) we are going to visit elderly relatives who are in nursing homes and cannot go out for Christmas. Tuesday I will do my food prep and finish any wrapping and last minute cleaning while my husband picks up the final groceries and produce. Christmas lunch will be quiet as our sons will be with their in-laws/girlfriends families, then we will have our big family Christmas gathering in the evening. I am looking forward to the 26th so I can rest and recover (it is also forecast to be 113 degrees here on the 26th, so I think most people will be staying home in the air conditioning and eating Christmas leftovers!).
We do Christmas a little different. We always do the traditional Thanksgiving but we do Christmas every year different. This year we are doing a taco bar and my granddaughter is hosting it.
In Ohio we have Club Volleyball that my nieces played in the winter after regular season Volleyball ended. They played a tournament each time they played, Saturday or Sunday, maybe 6 times. They didn't leave the state but did travel a bit. My nieces really enjoyed it and made friends with girls from other schools. Merry Christmas 🎅
Shorter candles ! You know that 70’s coffee table? I would get two more pillows and make it look more like a bench. I like that piece, it’s my style. Mid century modern. Then maybe an Ivy in the middle so people don’t sit on it. I love your house!!! I believe you live in Michigan, I live in Texas….We live out in what seems the middle of nowhere…. I have thermal black outs and you have shears. My goodness, I would be so paranoid. The lady that live across the pasture is from Michigan.
Hi Jodie.. love the squirrels. I have about 10 Chunky squirrels in my yard every day I pull in because we have trees and they are rummaging for acorns and things that I leave out for them. Yes, i'm so glad you bring your bowling balls in.. You know, I'm the bowler. And no matter the weather, it should never be left in the car. It can crack. I had to take bowling off tonight as I have a slight ankle sprain, but I will get healed soon. If we don't see you this coming week,I wish you a very merry christmas ❤
Bowling and squirrels! I knew we were friends for a reason Kristie ❤️❤️ Yes I’ve never understood leaving bowling balls in the car 🤷♀️ I hope your ankle feels better soon 🙏
Jodi, if you put a seat pad on that coffee table it will then look like a bench. You did a good job of cleaning your dining room. We are having baked Cornish hens, scallop corn, and green beans on Christmas Day. Merry Christmas to you and your family!!!
Merry Christmas to you and your family as well! My sisters all got together last weekend and baked cookies, taste tested a few and laughed a ton! We also put together a large sample box of everything for my oldest brother - we found out at thanksgiving his cancer is back and throughout his brain. He is having a procedure today for it and any prayers will be welcomed. I do have to brag a bit about our son-in-law, he was golfing with friends and got a Hole-in-One!!! OMG they were all looking around for his ball and couldn’t find it until they looked in the hole. Of course one of his buddies got a picture of him getting the ball - so exciting. Enjoy your time with your family!
Barb that sounds like so much fun!! Oh my gosh a hole in one…that is incredible! I’ll tell my husband he’ll be super jealous 😂 he’s golfed for years and is good but no hole in one yet. Sending you lots and lots of prayers for your brother 🙏🙏🙏
Hi Jodi, love the picture you hung on the wall. That’s beautiful. You do need shorter candles though room looks great. You guys be safe and God bless.❤
Our menu for Christmas Day is pancakes for breakfast, a light grazing platter for lunch as it’s just the 2 of us while the kids have lunch with their in-laws families. Then our big family dinner is cold ham, turkey breast stuffed with cranberries and nuts, prawns (shrimp) which we peel and eat at the table with a special family recipe seafood sauce, oysters (kilpatrick and raw with a finger lime dressing), salads (still being finalised but the garden salad will include watermelon, mint, feta and pine nuts), smashed potatoes cooked in duck fat (a favourite of my boys) followed by trifle (which I will make with a cranberry & pomegranate jelly (jello) made with fruit juice and gelatin, sponge cake, peaches, berries, custard, whipped cream and flaked almonds) and pavlova (which I will top with whipped cream combined with passion fruit curd and top with fresh tropical fruits). The seafood, salads, trifle and pavlova are all very traditional Christmas foods here in Australia. One of my son’s girlfriends has celiac disease, so everything I make and serve is gluten free so there is nothing that she cannot eat and no chance of cross contamination. 🎄
We have 27 people coming for 3 days this weekend. My nephew cooks one day. I cook one day and we eat leftovers for the last day. I make 2 hot dishes. My nephew is cooking something excotic! On Christmas we have chicken, stuffing, potatoes and corn...the usual! I hope you have a very Merry Christmas! I hope you take a lot of time to enjoy your family!
Merry Christmas from Australia! It’s hot down here so we have seafood for lunch …prawns, oysters, crabs, salads, and then mince pies, pudding, and pavlova for dessert.
Volleyball ended in October for us. Then Basketball started the next week and just ended the 20th. The next sport for us is Track in April. All 3 sports are my middle child.
Yes, the candles in the sconces should be shorter. That wall with the new picture & the sconces looks awesome! It’s so nice to have a clean dining room when company is coming. Thankfully I’m thru with decorating, shopping & wrapping. Moving on
*moving on to food prep. Christmas Eve we will have a Mexican casserole called King Ranch Chicken. Christmas Day will be Ham, Broccoli/-Rice Casserole, Mac& Cheese, Cherry Jello Salad, Cranberry Bread & Christmas Cake
Hi, Jodi! Well, had a back tooth extracted and have to take it easy for two days. We’re suppose to celebrate Christmas on the Sunday before Christmas which is ok by me. As long as I get to see my family! We will be watching the Lions game and having dinner too. Can’t wait! I hope you and your family have a blessed Christmas. Enjoy them while you can! Love and hugs to you all! 🎅🏻🎄🤶🏻👍💙💜💙💜💙
Did you ever think about a rug underneath your dining room table? Maybe one of those washable rugs would look nice. If you have a small wreath or candle ring, you could put it around that candle on your table. Everything looks fresh for the holidays!
Hey, girl. MERRY CHRISTMAS,🎅🤶 Been busy too, its that time of year. We were invited to a party a week ago and we made an appearance. They had invited us last year but my son was in and out of the hospital with anxiety issues. This year they invited us again and we went. Come to find out the guy who invited us had gone to the hospital 2 weeks ago thinking he was having a heart attack. It was anxiety. We had fun but I have a sensitivity to alcohol so I had one half glass of Creme Brule'. Next day I felt like I had 2 or 3 glasses, lol. we went to a town wide celebration for the movie, ITS A WONDERFUL LIFE. This town was the basis of the movie. They have food, all kinds of little shops, a parade, and the museum had a lot of the items from the original movie. It was a fun afternoon with family. We have a small get together this saturday. Our friend is making chili and we all bring a dish to pass. She just moved into this home in the late Spring. Anddddddd, Christmas Eve we get together with our friends from camp. We bring the pizza and wings and she makes my sons favorite food for his birthday. He will be 38 Dec. 23. In between all this the cats got neutered, and they had to get booster shots this past monday. I am so ooo done, lol Have an awesome holiday!! God bless!!
Edwina you had a very busy week!!! Sounds like a lot of fun ❤️ town wide celebration sounds very fun. Anxiety is just terrible! Does some awful things to our bodies. I hope your son is feeling better 🙏
Hey Jody, wanted to share a funny story. I was nine months pregnant with my first son. It turned very cold in Kentucky. We went into bowling our bowling league and of course the bags have been in the car all week. I took my shoes put them up to throw the ball and when I did, the sweat from the shoes made me stick and I fell face first with my big butt up in the air in front of the whole bowling alley of course, everyone was scared to death for me and the baby, I was mortified that my rear end was sticking up forever everybody to see.
the way i could USE those red bulls. I have my 3 upcoming noc (nocturnal, in healthcare it's bad to say 'graveyard') shifts coming up and I dont have energy drinks for them cuz being a CNA doesn't pay well at all. Gahh, i miss when things were affordable and i wasnt working 60 hour weeks just to afford bills :( For christmas, im working a 10 hour noc shift so i wont get dinner. but ill get to take care of my residents so :) Im okay with that. HAPPY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!! (If we dont see each other next week, lol)
We rotate holidays between my sister and I. I had Thanksgiving, so she's hosting Christmas. I think we're having ham and a bunch of other stuff! Merry Christmas to you and your family and other viewers! (No pressure on a video next week. You need to enjoy your holiday as well!) 🎄🎅
I thought that I was the only one who fed the squirrels, much to my neighbors dismay,I’m sure. We did black oil sunflower seeds and they would bang on the window and scream at me if I dare let it get low!
I'll be making either lazy lasagna or taco spaghetti with salad and garlic bread for Christmas day lunch and dinner. I'm leaving it up to my son, so it will probably be taco spaghetti. 😊
You are like a Disney Snow White with all the animals around you! 🥰
14:13 shorter ones!
Happy Birthday Mr Dunn... 🎉🎉

Shorter candelas would look bette! Love the picture and candles holders!!!
Could you look for an attractive armoire for your front living room that could garage all of the bowling bags? Sometimes thrift stores will sell those big ones that used to house the big chubby television and then other big components below. Many were very beautiful cherry wood or maple, etc.
Hi from the UK 👋, very refreshing to see non Pinterest content x
I love your videos and your family. Thank you for sharing part of your life. I hope you guys have a wonderful Christmas and a safe new year
Love those squirrels... The whole house is decorated, menu planned, shopping done, presents wrapped, now all I have to do is bake some cookies and call it Christmas. Merry Christmas Jodi...
Yay Mindy 👏👏❤️❤️
Yes, Jodi, smaller candles.
Looks good but yes shorter would look better.
Good afternoon, Jodi! 👋
Edit: being busy seems even more busy and tiring when a cold arrives to accompany the busyness.
Looks good again in the dining room.
Yes, it's amazing how fast the clutter & dust build up! Cobwebs... Yes they just seem to do that. Bowling, vball, band ( jazz or otherwise)... Yes, I remember the fun with it.
My week? Um, catching up on what wasn't getting done.😅
The quilt for baby girl has all front squares into rows ( except the last one) with the "filling" for each row & backing rows are also sewn .
( Ok. Soapbox put away😂)
I guess we'll see you when we see you. 😅

Hi Edie 🤗
Love the way you call the squirrels and talk to them😅
I’m sure my neighbors think I’m nuts 😂🐿️
Merry Christmas! ❤❤❤❤❤. Room looks lovely!
Have a merry Christmas!
Oh my gosh I'm sitting here watching your video and you said have you done any banking, I was like why is she asking about banking? Turn it down on me you said baking. I think I'm losing it lol😅😅
Oh my gosh 😂😂😂 well I was in banking for years so it honestly wouldn’t have surprised me if I did 🤣🤣
Shorter candles definitely!
I LOVE your squirrels!!!!!!
For Thanksgiving we do traditional food but for Christmas we do steak baked potatoes and salad and rolls 😊
The sconces are great, they look nice and level😊 I hope you and your family have a very Merry Christmas 🎁🎄 😊❤
Very nice 😊Have a very merry Christmas
Merry Christmas!! 🎄 💐
Yes such a busy busy month my daughter made the volleyball team (8th grade) and state competition for Cheerleading this Saturday (4 days b4 Christmas) 😮💨 but like you I wouldn't trade it for anything!
Hi Jodi
The dining area looks great!
Have a great Christmas 😊❤
Merry Christmas! 🎄🎁
My project this week was making buckeyes, it is a candy common to Ohio, which is where I grew up. It’s peanut butter and chocolate and sooo delicious. My husband wanted to take some in for his coworkers so I couldn’t say no. ☺️
Buckeyes are delicious ❤️❤️❤️
We are doing a big pot of beef stew for Christmas with cornbread. I'm sure others will bring random dishes also. Sort of a pot luck thing. We have it at my brother's house (the bachelor who doesn't decorate) lol. But his house is just more roomy for it. It will be my mom, dad, step mom and brothers and their familys. I love that we all still do everything together and the parents are willing to celebrate together. We do all the holidays together. My granddaughter has more great parents alive than grandparents. Hope you and your family have an absolutely wonderful Christmas and a blessed New Year 🎉

Oh wow yes that’s a big project. I bet it looks great ❤️❤️
Merry Christmas to you and the family.
Merry Christmas to you and your family, and just enjoy the holidays and take the time you need. ❤
Thank you ❤️
I would get some shorter candles...a cleaner look. Also I have the same Christmas tree soap dispenser that you have by your kitchen sink😂
Yup,we had that exact coffee table in front of our family room sofa in the seventies!
How darn funny 😂
Merry Christmas to you and your family!
Jodi, your sconce's look so pretty in your dining room and looks perfect with the picture. Merry Christmas ❤❤

Hi Jodi, love the picture you hung on the wall. That’s beautiful. You do need shorter candles though room looks great. You guys be safe and God bless.❤

That is a beautiful room, comfy cozy. Merry Christmas.🎀🎄☃🎁
Jodi merry Christmas from Naples Italy!!! thank you again for another great video

Thank you 🤗❤️
Oh Sharon that’s not fun! I hope you heal quickly 🙏🙏
Yes enjoy your time with family and watching the lions
Love your dining room , it’s so homely 😊
Thank you ❤️
Have the best Christmas ever Jodie🎅🤶🧑🎄
Thanks so much Soroka 🤗
Love seeing you ❤! Happy to see your litte squirl friends 🧡! 😅
Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas to you and yours Jodi! 🎄🎅🏻🇨🇦 and wishing you all good things in 2025 🎊
I think shorter candles would look better. Maybe where the flame is only halfway up the glass. Inloooove the painting
Merry Christmas ❤❤❤

Hey Jody, wanted to share a funny story. I was nine months pregnant with my first son. It turned very cold in Kentucky. We went into bowling our bowling league and of course the bags have been in the car all week. I took my shoes put them up to throw the ball and when I did, the sweat from the shoes made me stick and I fell face first with my big butt up in the air in front of the whole bowling alley of course, everyone was scared to death for me and the baby, I was mortified that my rear end was sticking up forever everybody to see.
Good video wishing you Christmas Joy ❤
Christmas dinner is smoked prime rib, salad, baked potatoes, and a vegetable side. We also do egg custard for dessert.
Merry Christmas Jodie!
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼😊
Merry Christmas to you and yours! 💜
We love to put from someone on the gift tags that the recipient finds annoying lol it’s great to watch the look on their faces.
Hilarious 😂😂
Merry Christmas Jodie
We're having ribeyes, mash potatoes, corn, rolls, and cookies ❤
Hi Sweetie, Cutie, and Jerry!! You guys are loved 😍 🥰
Oh that sounds yummy Pamala ❤️❤️
Merry christmas Jodi
Merry Christmas
🎄🤗
Oh my goodness this squirrels are so chunky. They love them some peanuts.
the way i could USE those red bulls.
I have 2 sets of sconces. I have votive candles in mine.
Hey Jodi 👋 shorter ones 😊
We rotate holidays between my sister and I. I had Thanksgiving, so she's hosting Christmas. I think we're having ham and a bunch of other stuff! Merry Christmas to you and your family and other viewers! (No pressure on a video next week. You need to enjoy your holiday as well!) 🎄🎅
Good morning Jodi ❤😊
Hi Laura 🤗

Shorter candles
Thanks Sandi 🤗
I think shorter candles for sure
Thank you ❤️
Merry Christmas! Question for you because my family doesn’t give a hoot about plants. Is it ok to repot my pothos? It cant wait until spring
Yes!!!! Every Pothos I have repotted (because it needed it) has grown so much ❤️
I would get shorter. Very pretty.
Thank you Trudy 🤗
I thought that I was the only one who fed the squirrels, much to my neighbors dismay,I’m sure. We did black oil sunflower seeds and they would bang on the window and scream at me if I dare let it get low!
Laura that’s hilarious 😂😂
Yes I’m sure my neighbors think I’m nuts going in yard everyday calling them 🤣
I'll be making either lazy lasagna or taco spaghetti with salad and garlic bread for Christmas day lunch and dinner. I'm leaving it up to my son, so it will probably be taco spaghetti. 😊
