I think the discussion about being kind to everyone you interact with daily bringing so much happiness is golden. Almost everyone appreciates and responds to being noticed and having recognition no matter how brief that interaction may be. In today's world, we tend ignore everyone we pass. Being kind and recognizing others is the most human characteristic we have. It truly brings me much joy.
I think and feel the same way. Alexander has shown, at least for me, that people often lack values... I think so. If you can give love and respect and be kind and courteous... Why aren't you? (I speak in the common people)
I felt that Uhtred was the big story. Without him, i wouldn't have cared about the smaller story of uniting the kingdoms. I was watching to see Uhtred finally get back to his birthright and to finally stop being tortured.
One of the most important factors in making The Last Kingdom a series that will ultimately be recognized as one of the great historical dramas of the decade(century:)?) comes to the fore in this podcast. Alexander Dreymon is revealed To be an individual of self-effacing wit, courage, and generosity of spirit; attributes which shine through in his compelling portrayal of Uhtred so brilliantly! He is a noble man!
Would love to see this fabulous and very unashamedly human actor in a psychological thriller! What a delightful and intelligent person. Emotions are perfectly acceptable. We all have the right to experience them, however, how we choose to behave during the negative IS most valid. Being honest and kind to yourself is most important.
Alexander Dreymon made me wish Uhtred to be true. He has bought Uhtred to life. Although the character must have took a toll on him where he must have acted scenes against his personality, he portrayed it very well. The way he has portrayed the Uhtred who runs away after the massacre of his family, loses so much on his journey and finally returns to his home shows the growth of a person in life. I wish he does such work in future
Just finished watching “The Last Kingdom” and the movie, Alexander is an amazing actor. The character of Uthred portrayed by Alexander shows resilience, and patience. Surprisingly enough in that era, Uthred’s openness to accept different cultures, personalities and respecting differences is really heart warming. It is great to hear Alexander on this podcast and know him a little about his fondness of meditation and exploration of self.
Big hugs to you Alex and also to Uthred...A strong man who faced tons of challenges in life, but managed to stand up again, and live his lufe to the fullest.
I wish for Alexander, Allison and Arlo all good things. And as for Alexander, I think his Higher Power will continue to guide him in his life, personally and professionally. How wonderful to know that someone in his position is so insightful and highly values kindness.
Uhtred has such a painful life. He loses so many loved ones. His relationships always end in some sort of death. His life is so hard to deal with. The ending is amazing he sees his loved ones living and sees his afterlife is real. Such a emotional story. I loved his portraiture of uhtred. His is a great actor. I just loved the show.
You can feel the connection between Alexander and Dan in this interview. It was so enjoyable to listen to….. and Alexander, you are a beautiful soul. Thanks for sharing. ❤
Nothing is by coincidence it’s the universe giving you what you need at the point in ur life and part of ur “blue print” in thus human life. Congrats to you Alex, well deserved and bittersweet to all that made The Last Kingdom & the recent movie monumental
Dan Harris is amazing and have been following since GMA days. I am in awe of how humble Alex is. I am just finishing the series and sad to see it end. Uthred is a my favorite character and Alex does a fantastic job protraying it. I will miss it. What an awesome podcast and thank you. Much deserved happiness to you and your families.
Such a wonderful episode. Alexander is a beautiful human being and it comes through in his acting. Wishing him nothing but the best and will forever cherish him as Uhtred, the true Lord of Bebbenburg. ❤️
I've said this for a while now . Like since season 2 of the Last Kingdom , but I think this cat should be the next James Bond ! Stoked to listen to this talk .

I loved this guy from pretty early on in the TLK universe. I won't say the beginning but I found him around 2016. I hope this doesn't sound to fanatical but I feel like Uhtreds story is in my soul.... Anyway, I think so much of Alexander Dreymon comes through in Uhtred. Bernard Cornwell is an amazing writer.....wow....you guys brought this story to life. You guys got me through a long tough time. I had to have a ton of surgeries and so stuck at home for about 3 years. Also, thank you all for this interview.
My ex was the one watching it, but by the 4th or 5th episode, just the sound of Uhtred penetrating through whatever I would be doing sucked me and I ended up looking forward to the new seasons more than my ex did!
Im late to this episode, but i thoroughly enjoyed it. I admire Alexander Dreymon as an actor - he is a multidimentional person that is able to create different levels of himaelf at once, while also being able to center himself on what is most important to him. We can easily lose sight of that in our everyday humdrum, so taking the time to listen to the podcast with a guest that i enjoy learning from has made it easy to take a nugget of what i need to really improve in my life as well as things that i can really just let go of each day rather than not holding on to things that are inconsequential to the long term big picture.
I happened upon this podcast because of my love and interest in The Last Kingdom books and the series. I have now subscribed because there are reasons something catches your attention by serendipity: there are no coincidences. Thank you to Dan Harris for this episode, and I look forward to many more. Wishing you all the success with the your podcast in our troubled times.
Beautiful, thoughtful, deep conversation. To hear two men speaking with vulnerability and honesty about they're "stuff" - it shows how much personal work they've done. "Remembering" and "Against the stream" will stay with me. Thank you @DanHarris and @ AlexanderDreymon.
I can say that your talk with Alexander is precious. The interviews that I could find are all very official. But your conversation is so much into important things, so homey, warm and private. Thanks for the opportunity to see Alex another way. The topics you've chosen were extremely interesting to hear. Success, harmony and love to both of you. Oh, btw what is zero space policy? I failed to find any explanation of that. 👏👏👏👏👏😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
What a lovely interview, and to hear and learn a little more about Alexander, I loved The Last Kingdom, and the movie, and sad its ended, and cant wait to see the next project that Alexander participates in. All the very best for the future......... x
To Alex Dreymon think before you react and know that you are the best judgement of yourself as no one knows you better than you. You are loved, which is the power of unconditional love.
Primates are silly animals. It's so important to be able to frolic and goof around. It's a stress reliever that lowers the cortisol that is so damaging. I very seldom am drawn to actors. Alexander's portrayal of Uhtred is the first time I've ever been emotionally connected to a character in such a way that I mourned the ending of the show. I literally came to UA-cam to watch whatever I could find related to The Last Kingdom just bc the end of the saga left me feeling empty. I'm so glad that I have gotten a glimpse into Alexander, now because it shows that Uhtred was a manifestation of him. I really hope another series comes forth that he can breathe life into a character in the same way.
I love uhtred …and not an Alexander dreymon fan but an uhtred fan. He did such an exceptional work in making uhtred so amazing ❤ thanks alexander, you are simply awesome and you have no right to be so handsome and an exceptional actor. Loads of love ❤
As a mom of adult boys I felt they were being too burden with life, I bought a swimming pool so they could play again. With their friends and themselves would have parties and do stupid stuff with the pool and they could find fun in life again. Nerd guns became and adult game at Christmas. There is times in your adult life that you need to just play on a swing and relax and enjoy life again. Everybody needs to find play again.

Alex is a kind human beeing 🤗 I love it, I love how he is playing Uhtred, I love Uhtred and all the great relationships that they have created doing TLK...Alex is missed, Uhtred is already missed 😢
Really great interview. Alexander seems like a really private guy so it was interesting to hear him talk about so many personal things. I'm a bit surprised they didn't really talk about religion (other than Dan's Buddhism) seeing as that was such a major theme of the show and it would have fit nicely into the tone of the conversation.

Brilliant episode! Thank you very much, I really enjoyed it! And I really can relate to all these topics, loving being angry at the moment and hating it, when anger is gone. The perception of how short is humans life made me becoming more open to the people around me and to the world, trying and learning new things without fear, trying to be kind and suppress that anger. It changed my life and I got much happier.
