- In this video I show my version of hand-built and thrown pumpkins. Many potters do pumpkins. Here's my technique. I figured out on my own how to get the deep grooves, how to push them down, and do the curly stem.
I like that. Thank you. Now I may have to get a wheel and learn to throw. GAK!
I don’t know how many times I’ve watched this video but I absolutely LOVE your method and your pumpkins and stems!!!
nicest pumpkins! love the leaf and stem! thanks for both wheel and hand built :)
Great video, thanks. I like the way you speed it up in some sections. These pumpkins are so cute.
Thanks so much for showing how to hand build them. I just can't get the hang of throwing. Love your videos
Thank you for sharing your pumpkin making knowledge! 💕🎃
I’m Rebecca Meador, I like your channel!
Love your videos. I actually threw two pumpkins today and had a blast.
This was GREAT! Someone from my online pottery group recommended we do this as our monthly project , so I'll be sharing your video in the September newsletter!
Thank you!
Did it with my kids and they loved it will try to attach a pic
Excellent video!! Thank you so much.

Wow! Super video! Thanks so much! Now I'm understand ! 😍🤗
This is a really fun video! I like that you show more than one way to do things. I'm just starting out and don't have a lot of equipment/tools.
Simply illuminating. Thank you :)
This was a great video. You explained everything well, and thoroughly... really enjoyed it... thank you...

Thankyou!!

Thanks a lot.. It is amaizing.. ❤️❤️
super cute
Thank you. So creative. Could use the idea for other fruit like an apple or pear
Joyce Knake that's true! I've done pears, apples, persimmonds...
Hi Jamie! I absolutely adore these! Do you sell them and if so, do you ship internationally?
thnx!
I have made so many pumpkins because of your tutorial! If you happen to see this, my walls of my pumpkins are really think (I am throwing them) and I don’t know if that’s normal when throwing a sphere or if I am just being too cautious and need to pull my walls higher before closing the shape? Thanks for any help!
It's just about experimentation and repetition. Clay body can also make a difference. Don't be afraid to fail. You can always reclaim the clay and go again.

Great adeas 10x
Could you tell me what the vinegar does and which type do you use. 👍💕
I use a white vinegar - doesn't matter the brand. I have been told it's molecules are smaller than water so it can penetrate the clay better.
Jamie Meador Thanks for the reply. Have you done a video on a the same thing but on a larger scale? Would be interesting to see the outcome. Manny thanks. 👍🇬🇧
@@sheepsrubberpants No, I have not done a video for these on a larger scale.
I have to watch this for ceramics class :(
NightCone 13 Maybe instead of writing a useless comment you could channel all your energy into actually learning something. It's a good video!
What clay did you use?
I use different clays. Most of these time it's clay planet's sculpture raku. I've also used bmix with grog from Laguna. My very last batch is BT Rose from east bay clay. When starting out I find it easier to use clay with grog. Bravo buff would be good too (clay planet).
@@jamiemeador2967 I am from India,I got no idea what clay you are talking about.
@@vn4534I use a stoneware clay with grog that fires to cone10. I think you could use any clay but porcelain. That clay body type is too difficult for beginners.
