Not an American but this is very touching, the precision put into this is immaculate and clearly done with care, RIP to all soldiers of all nationalities who served there countries.
I was given my Father"s flag about 20 years ago. He was A Combat Engineer in WWII and was involved with the Normandy beach invasion, the Battle of the Bulge, and the Army of Occupation in Japan. Though I was the youngest Son, I cared for him at his hour of need, along with my newly wedded Wife. She cared for him just like he was her own Father. That flag is in a case in our Front Room Along side the flag of His Father who served in WWI under the Direct Command of Gen John J. "Black Jack" Pershing.
We did over 200 funeral detail between may and October last year in 2021, we covered the entire Midwest with this two men detail. Great food marines, my condolences to the fallen comrade family and friends. God bless America and us all
My brother had them present it to me. OMG. When taps is played & the present that flag. Wow. The love & pride we have for our dad. 31yrs US Army. CW4 Marvin Atkins *(he helped create the CW5 rank
Thank you to the soldier that gave their life for our freedom. Your sacrifice was not in vain. We love and appreciate you. May your soul forever rest peacefully in the arms of the Lord Jesus Christ. We will see you soon on the other side.
Rest In Peace Shipmate. Honor Guard, thank you for your fine work and service, I'm participating in a flag folding ceremony tomorrow and was looking for guidance on how to do this properly.
I do Funeral Honors every day for our fallen Heros, the worst part is when you have to look into the eyes of the widow(er) as they let loose their tears, and you must maintain military bearing. As you, like their spouse or parent, must show the bravery they did in life. Semper Fortis Semper Fi.
This was done at my grandfather's funeral today. He served in the Army during the Korean war era as a tank crew sergeant. He was 90 years old. This seems to be a very tense and time consuming procedure to do. They took quite a while to fold the flag and their were small mistakes made. I kept the seeing the facial expressions of a guy holding the the flag.
Why was the first flag folded to the left or the closed end of the flag (Lengthwise) I thought it was always folded towards the open side? Or does it make a difference?
