As a 15 year old I nervously approached Bob and Paula at a Blondie gig in London and asked him what the B-side of the new single (Someone's Looking At You) was going to be. He looked at me quizically and said "The B-side? I have absolutely no idea". It turned out to be an album track. I'd like to think some subconscious memory of that exchange prompted his comment at 32:05. This is what the kids want! Cool B-sides, which all of the Rats singles had up until that point.
Great experience and daunting at the same the time. Bob and Paula were both were intelligent, quick thinkers and articulate in conversation.
Bob is unique. My hero!
