Avernus as a former paradise. I'm not at all sure I can accept that. I'm rather fond of Ed Greenwood's version. It's not really key to the adventure, though. I would come up with a more diabolic name for the place. "Belvedere" sounds like a place for tea and crumpets. Given that the starting exchange rate of talons to soul coins is 300 to 1, and the hell machine had sixty charges, plus its inherent value, I would think the players could sell it and bribe their way to the office door. Of course, riding in on the hell machine could cause all sorts of the wrong questions. Mortals almost certainly aren't supposed to be in possession of one. Any players would have to be insane to want to meet my version of Tiamat. "Of course you may have the Hand of Vecna. I'll just need you to do me a favor later on."
@@TheOtherSteel yeah, the paradise thing was a hard thing to swallow. Those are all great ideas! They wanted to keep the vehicle to get back to the portal.
And i was already planning on having them need the approval of several pit bosses, that was a good idea. But I know my groups will want to take on Tiamat lol. I might have them take on Windfall and an avatar of Tiamat to see how they do.
Been loving your guides for this campaign. Helps me a ton.
