Love Clara Ward. Listened to her when I was a Teenager. Thanks so much for having this on the computer. I am 75 years old now and I still love her as much as ever. Van
Awesome! The Clara Ward Singers are my favorite female Gospel group and they were all stars in their own right! They went places other Gospel singers weren't comfortable going. There's a good bit of negativity out there about them, but I focus on the positive. I hope that you'll continue to explore their music and enjoy!
The two greatest, the first & last word of gozpel zoul Lady Mahalia Jackson & Mz. Clara Ward Mz. Jackson spoke from a baptist point of view Lady Ward was holiness! They are the crown jewels of the black church, they elevated gospel music to a par of the creme of classical music
I just finished watching an episode of "Make Room for Daddy" where Clara Ward and the Ward Singers appeared. I remember watching this episode as a child in 1964 or 1965. The episode is named "Louise to the rescue".
Very sad. I actually watched a documentary she did a few years back and was instantly drawn in by her personality. Always knew who she was but got to get a sense of who she was from that documentary. Love Ms. Clara Ward too. One of my favs.
oww man, this gospel groupe was great, amazing, energic and powerfull. The voices are blowin me away from tge chair.i love this and want more of this.🙂🙂🙂🙂👍👍👍👍👍👍👍⚘⚘⚘💜
Ward brings the Smoke and Fire but for my money Bessie Griffin and The Gospel Pearls live version, while not as heavily syncopated, takes it to another level. Nobody does more with what they have than Ward but Bessie don't ever have to shout cuz her range just soars on out through the roof and above! Bottom line, lucky us... we get to rock BOTH... glory, hallelujah!
I've been a fan of The Clara Ward Singers since I first heard then saw in person in 1962. I love them!
The lungs on this lady …I tried singing along with her speed and depth whew Chile … her God given pipes are truly miraculous ❤️

From that close-up angle, Clara really resembled her mother Gertrude.
I'm not understanding why across the screen and says rowches can someone tell me what this means they look great
That's my screen name....and that's why it's across the video.
Oh, no! I didn't know Willa passed!
"Child, them white folks don't know what to do with her, sock it to em Clara" said Big Momma in the movie Respect lol
