- John's secretary Angela is secretly studying for a real estate exam, and John has been helping her with the law parts after hours. Sally knows there's nothing going on, how could she not, but Jerry and the people at the office have a different opinion, and it could cause trouble. I know Sally Field didn't like doing this show but after the stresses of "The Flying Nun", I can't imagine it wasn't something of a relief. And I always enjoyed William Windom's work.
My gosh! I knew I recognized Charlie Brill and Mitzi McCall from somewhere! I think I saw them on "Tattletales" and some variety show.
Well, maybe nothing comes up, on Angela, because John has been studying the masters, like Batman, and learned to shield his thoughts.
Just kidding. With the show's premise, that's actually a funny, little aside. If she could essentially do like the Jedi Council, or Martian Manhunter, and see those stray thoughts, he couldn't do it, if he wanted to. We, the audience, never thought about it, since John's given no indication that he wants to, as the saying goes, dip his pen in the company ink. It would be interesting, though, if John was to study mental defenses. Had the ths show been written with today's sensibilities (and I pray it never does, and remains of its time) John would definitely be looking for ways to shield his thoughts.
This is one of those episode plots that just annoys me
