Initial D helped introduce eurobeat to a new audience but it's not the only reason why eurobeat was successful. Mega NRG Man had a number of hits long before the Initial D anime started. "Fire" and "Seventies" are two big songs of his. Eurobeat was mainstream in Japan in the 90s before Initial D even started. I get that these concepts aren't well known, but there's no need to talk down like that.
