I don't understand why people call it plot armor. The rain and fog affect everyone equally. Kanata is obviously more skilled than anyone in that race. If anything, Kanata is massively nerfed because of his car. Kanata having an underpowered car is actually a handicap and could be considered the plot armor of the other racers.
@@kiryuusentou6387 I think it's less the rain thing, more his absolute memory and the fact that in this _post Initial D_ world, apparently literally no-one who's into motorsports has ever heard of drifting, just so Kanata can be mr hyper-super-special. Takumi has literally won every race but one, but his strength came directly from his character; it said something about him. Kanata just lucked out into having a genetic predisposition for the very type of races the screenwriter made up for his story. That's just bad writing. Edit: okay, to be fair, I'm comparing a finished story with an as of yet unfinished story. If they do something to make Kanata feel less like a Mary Sue (which I say is unlikely, given I don't think there is even one female character who didn't have an internal monologue about how wet she gets just by looking at him) I will gladly eat my words. With gusto.
I was surprised the ferrari caught up after the deathzone. Akaba is pretty skilled to be able to catch up to Kanata in a high-powered car while fighting to keep the ferrari under control on wet tarmac
