    You don't see a lot of serious, practicing trial lawyers on UA-cam - mostly just traffic and civil attorneys. It's nice to have the input of someone who really knows what he's talking about on these kinds of events.

    I can completely relate to your client. About four years ago I went through my own personal hell through the legal system. Basically what happened my ex who suffers from mental health issues decided she didn't want to take her medication anymore and everything went to hell. It was about a two-and-a-half-year battle in and out of court. The words that your clients spoke about you is exactly the same feeling I had with my lawyer. I cannot be any more grateful to my lawyer and all the hard work that he put in. I don't know if this is the case for all lawyers but it was definitely the case. You hear stories where even if you just want to talk to you a lawyer will charge you $100 or put you on the clock. The amazing lawyer that I had never once charged me extra if I had questions or text him about something. I was so grateful about that because I myself also had sleepless nights. I'm 42 now this all happened when I was in my mid-30s around 35. Up until then I've never had any problems or issues with law. Being a man in the legal system going against the woman you already are behind the 8-ball. So I just want to say to you in all the other amazing defense lawyers thank you so much for the work that you have to do. For two-and-a-half years I didn't sleep the whole night through. So once again thank you so much to you and all the amazing lawyers that fight. Keep up the great work because you definitely mean something

And they are just as sure... That's a " hung public" lol. And I'f the public is hung, it stands to reason the jury is too.
      And this reflects true because the jury came in about 20 minutes ago and stated they couldn't resolve and reach a unanimous decision.. that " each juror was stuck in their respective camp".

    I don't see in any situation where melly is gonna walk free from this. The prosecution's case was too rock soild on him being present at the time of the murders and proving that the shooting wasn't a drive by and was done within the vehicle. Whats going to take the longest in juror deliberations is whether he gets the death penalty or not.

    • @kamshan7540
      @kamshan7540 Рік тому +4

      Yes but no GSR and no DNA evidence at the time of the scene showing he was indeed in the car the whole time and did not get out, is saying otherwise. No gun In possession as well. If he says he got out the car before the shooting, they have no way of proving that nor do they have proof that he was in the vehicle during the shooting or during the whole time

    • @kamshan7540
      @kamshan7540 Рік тому +2

      So it's pointing more to the insufficient evidence side because the other guy had GSR on him and his hands. So therefore, beyond reasonable doubt which means hardcore evidence showing he shot and he was there. They don't have the proof of that as far as GSR and the gun and etc. Yes they have him on camera getting in the seat but could have easily gotten out during anytime during the ride. I agree he was indeed there though. They just gotta prove he pulled the trigger. And so far it's speculation

    • @christian-gu5oq
      @christian-gu5oq Рік тому

      Goodness it’s scary how little evidence sways people. The state had a horrible case and didn’t prove anything but that he got in the car 2 hours before the murder that’s all. The jury is currently hung so his chances of walking are decent

    • @Curiousviewer22
      @Curiousviewer22 Рік тому +3

      @@kamshan7540 The jury is expected to use common sense. Common sense tells you that you don't get out of a car with 4 people at that time of the morning to squeeze into another car that already has 4 people in order to go to the same destination. The jury is instructed to not hold it against the defendant for not testifying, but they will hold it against the defendant for not having some explanation come forth as to why he switched cars this time of the morning, and at a time when 2 people in the car he had been traveling in just happen to be killed from within the car while Bortland claimed it was a driveby shooting. Any juror who is holding out against a conviction is either a Melly groupie or someone who thinks that "beyond reasonable doubt" means that if there is any speculation possible that could raise doubt, that meets the threshold. Maybe the dispute is to whether the killing is gang related. That would be understandable.

      @@RotasOpera honestly, I think the puzzle fits together. However, the way the state presented it was verrrrrry dense and a lot of specialized information that the jury may not fully grasp depending on the type of person they are. I think the cases mostly weird coincidences that all seem to point at melly, but the defense made the craziest play by only calling 1 witness, no experts, and basically acting like they have absolutely nothing to prove.
      The states closing argument was a 2 hour power point. The defense had a convicting, personal, and inspiring closing argument. where they addressed the jury w eye contact and conviction rather than more PowerPoints.
      The reasonable doubt? His friend says he literally wasn’t there. They have no weapon. The investigation performed was half-assed.
      I don’t necessarily that the investigator was trying to gain fame within his career like they said, but one by one, the defense picked apart and CREATED reasonable doubt by poking holes within each of the most important witnesses called by the state.
      If you’ve seen my cousin Vinny, it was like that.
      I’m completely torn on the verdict, no clue what will happen. The 8/4 rule is terrifying. I’ve followed this pretty closely and while I THINK he did it, I’m really not sure, and if I was on the jury panel, I’d go for acquittal.
