  • If you're an MMA fighter, you'll end up in half guard... a lot. Here is a variation known as the "knee shield" that works great in MMA (especially for smaller fighters) to create space and leverage to sweep your opponent and advance positions.

    I can’t try this until week 3 in 2020 but that gives me more time watching this vid and watch in slow motion to see where his armes and legs are and then repeat it again. Amazing vid.
    And imagine me going in MMA, BJJ and I’m thinking to start Judo but about 1 year ago I was just sitting in my living room watching tv and UA-cam and not being interested in ANY sports and not knowing how to fight at all😂.
    But I still got problems against jab and cross to the body and ur showing how to block and avoid hits to the head but I still love ur vids + this year I’m going to the adults group when ur allowed to punch to the head.

    can you do a video on stamina conservation specifically against a pressure fighter? (MMA). I always end up gassing myself out because of how unbalanced my stamina is with pressure fighters, and just anyone in general. just good strategies or ways I can limit my stamina outake

      I too thought it exposes the neck (i was thinking guillotine ) but i guess if you feel opponent cutting from the dog fight and going toward the head you know to defend choke before they get to it. Should probably drill that when practicing this position

    Yo Shane I got my first boxing fight coming up in February and I was wondering how many times should I train per week ?

    • @tustudyis4life51
      @tustudyis4life51 4 роки тому

      Depends how intense the training is every other day is good to give youre body recovery . Shadow and drill technique on off days . Make sure youre fit enough to fight at least 2 more (however many mins.) Rounds than the fight is so there's no chance of being tired and you can push the pace. If you're defense is good endurance can win you fights if you capitalize on tiring out opponent . If you're really sore take the day off it you feel good do 2,3 days n a row a day or 2 leading up to it don't train just get you're heart rate up . GOOD LUCK tension and nerves can drain stamina so RELAX b4 fight the harder you train leading up the better you'll do. YOU GOT THIS

    I have a question: I do BJJ for about 1-2 Months now. I´m about 5´8, 160-165lbs. I have a long torso but very short legs. I was wondering, if my shorter legs are a disadvantage. Sometimes, I can barely hold guards or wrap my legs around someone, because they arent that long. Any advice (esp. any good techniques) for this?

    • @tustudyis4life51
      @tustudyis4life51 4 роки тому

      All body types have pros & cons sounds like you're stout/dense as im 5'7 135 skinny . Stretching will make guard more comfortable the more u do it pros to you're body are it will be harder for other to move/lift you and if they reach into you're bubble you will have no problem moving them (with technique) really in JJ you shouldn't focus on any certain moves learn them all the whole decision tree then use whichever move fits what the opponent runs into anytime you try to force a move opponent sees it coming a mile away. What im recommending is what many grapplers call flow nowadays

    • @tustudyis4life51
      @tustudyis4life51 4 роки тому

      So many jj moves they will run into one trying to defend another

      @@tustudyis4life51 Ok, Ill try this. I guess my body fat percentage is around 10-14%, so I´m mostly muscle. I´m also flexible, since my background is Muay Thai. But i´ll try, what I realised is, that I often fail to get the right angles for certrain techniques which makes it harder, obviously.
