Having just been released by AFC Wimbledon after their League Two Playoff victory, Adebayo Akinfenwa used his post-match interview to look for a new club. Akinfenwa ultimately joined Wycombe Wanderers, who are now celebrating promotion to the Championship.

Oh I remember him when he played for my local team in Lithuania some 20 years ago. What a sight he was. A ton of muscles steaming towards frightened defenders. When he got to his cruise speed not a brick wall could stop him. So glad he is doing well.

@@Isleofskye I understand what you are saying, Wycombe are a very defensive side and often play long ball counters especially late in games, he will still be able to come on as substitute and play as a target man in these situations. His strength means he gives away quite a few fouls which is excellent for breaking up play and slowing the game down if you are defending a lead or hanging on for a draw.

Got a chance to train with Ade, when he came to visit our club's training session in Atlanta. Who would've thought that a guy playing in League One would ever take the time to come have a session with a 3rd tier team in the US? One of the best experiences I had, super likeable guy, took time to give us solid advice. Won't forget that.
