Hi Doomie! We hit Marketplace Mall after Hanes Mall on the same day. It's about the same as in your video except that the Harrison's appears to have closed up. There are still some items in the store, so maybe it's just temporary. Hamrick's is still chock full of mostly useless stuff like it always is. I totally agree with your Gabes-Peebles comparison. My mother worked in a Peebles in Virginia years ago. I always thought it was a Belk wannabe without the proper management. Anyway, one of the inline stores was hosting a baby shower while we were there and they had live music, which was a nice surprise. Instantly forgettable otherwise. Thanks for posting your videos. We enjoy your style and witty commentary.
Another great video, Doomie! I absolutely enjoyed it. Keep it up! PS: I think the only thing I know of that’s changed since I did my Marketplace Mall video and you did yours is that the card shop closed. Aside from that, it seems like Marketplace Mall is still doing pretty okay to me. -Bathimers!
As big as Dollar Tree has become having bought out Family Dollar, and starting to expand beyond dollar items in some locations, I would for sure call it an anchor to this little quaint mall.
Yeah I agree it really does have that wearhouse store look, and I don't think it's a bad thing if saves the mall money, and maintenance cost of having to deal with a drop ceiling.
Also go check out the old Burlington outlet mall across the street from the old kmart eckard or eckerd and rack rooms shoes they have a open Bon Worth!
Isn't there a Hanes Outlet at that mall, (which would explain the underwear sales)? I haven't been in a while. I think it's important to note that the Marketplace Cinema is now a discount Cinema, and has been for several years. It's where you go to see a movie that is no longer in "normal" theaters, but isn't on DVD yet for like $3 or however much it is. It used to be the only Cinema, that I'm aware of, until the "Wynnsong" Cinema (Carmike) was built near Hanes Mall in the 90s. Now Wynnsong became an AMC in recent years. Again, it's been several years since I've actually gone in and walked through that mall, but I'm pretty sure that first middle booth thing or that Avon thing is is a sort of seamstress area we can get items of clothing repaired, I think. Obviously they sell Avon. The seamstress/tailor, or clothing repair place maybe in another little booth thingy, but I feel like there's a place you can get items of clothing repaired. Side note, I went trick-or-treating one year at that mall.
I think you would have fun hitting the malls of CT. my local mall Crystal mall is a Simons mall that for sure feels like it's about to go under sooner rather then later
It looks like there's only a couple of vacant storefronts which isn't bad for this mall. BTW, when are you going to upload the rest of the malls in Western New York?

I love the Market Place Mall. I go there every time I'm in Winston Salem NC. I don't think the little mall is wierd all all. It's fantastic.
always love seeing NC vids! It's crazy to see such a vintage mall look so untouched & sterile. keep em coming!

That is the shiniest floor i have ever seen in a mall.
A mall where the rent is half the price of your regular mall and less filling all at the same time.

Nice video. Like this place. The ceiling looks straight from a Costco or Sam's Club though.

Commodorefan64 it looks like the typical old 80s era outlet mall, very basic in design and have a very basic floorplan.
Also go check out the old Burlington outlet mall across the street from the old kmart eckard or eckerd and rack rooms shoes they have a open Bon Worth!
another great video from doomie!! 👍

It will be a few weeks before we get to the NY malls, but don't worry, they will come. I still need to go back for some more.
