A drone pilot using FPV goggles is required to have a second person using their eyes as a backup. Why in a training flight in the military, under such dangerous circumstances, is the pilot not required to also have at least one person using their natural vision as a backup? 60 people wiped out because of "rules for thee, but not for me".
The helicopter pilots might not be aware or could not see the plane flying from behind and above at a much faster speed and was descending. As helicopter was gaining speed and elevation, the plane was already seconds away in the front . The crash was a result of poor judgement and communication from the control room. They had a thorough picture of the flying scene on the computer yet could not detail correct positions or moves to the flying vehicles. Their competence is highly doubtful!
Could it be possible a course change was not properly communicated? I agree with your assessment, I too believe the plane came down on top of the heli. I also think the heli was banking towards the airport following the river, with night vision it's possible their field of view was limited, contributing to their inability to see it. Hopefully the black boxes can be recovered and along with the atc data we can piece together what happened to cause such a tragedy.

I feel like the ATC‘s communication should have been more clear with precise directions; specific questions should have been asked by the Blackhawk pilot. Looks like they were confused due to lack of clear communication. So sad.
who is FTC? ATC was using book standard phraseology which all pilots understand.
Maybe do those night evaluation training flights somewhere else. Night goggles in the middle of a busy civilian flight path area? Seriously?

Why was there a black hawk helicopter in airplane space?
They were both on their assigned flight-paths.
The designated flight-paths cross over each other, but the aircrafts are supposed to be at different altitudes.
One or both of them were probably slightly off course -- most likely too high or too low.
You do realize military aircraft are always in “airplane airspace”? I guess that would require you to think and use your brain. Military aircraft are priority in every air space.
Because we have an alcoholic and bumbling fool running the military and an incompetent president who fired all the safety experts. Duh.
@@Flirken1 bro stfu it ain’t that serious they obviously didn’t know smh lol. .

that’s a bit excessive
Especially dangerous when there’s SUV sized drones flying everywhere. Joe Biden woke handlers spending your tax money.

Why would a highly lit up area with brightly glaring lights on planes require night goggles?? That would blind the helicopter pilots
No it wouldn't.

Besides, they're supposed looking across at the horizon, not at the street lights.
Modern night vision has methods to limit the amount of ambient light they take in, it wouldn’t blind the user.

Jan. 29th - First American midair collision in 16 years....took a while, but DEI finally caught up to them.
A drone pilot using FPV goggles is required to have a second person using their eyes as a backup. Why in a training flight in the military, under such dangerous circumstances, is the pilot not required to also have at least one person using their natural vision as a backup? 60 people wiped out because of "rules for thee, but not for me".
Not sure, but that 3rd person in the helicopter might have been a "spotter," as you suggested. 🤔
A person wanted another person sent to the promised land.
What are you talking about?
Could it be possible a course change was not properly communicated? I agree with your assessment, I too believe the plane came down on top of the heli. I also think the heli was banking towards the airport following the river, with night vision it's possible their field of view was limited, contributing to their inability to see it. Hopefully the black boxes can be recovered and along with the atc data we can piece together what happened to cause such a tragedy.
Prayers for all of them
