- I have been using iOptron mounts for a long time now. When I purchase my first iOptron, the 45 PO it revolutionized my imaging because I was then able to capture much longer exposures. Plus the larger payload was a big help and kept me expanding what kind of imaging rigs I used on it.
iOptron really needs to market this mount more! Inspite of the lack of reviews or marketing, took a chance with the iOptron HAE29.. and I must say, I am not at all disappointed... it is a beautiful mount! Works really well with NINA and ASI Air Plus ! The new design with the inbuilt wifi is a good new feature to avoid the hand controller!
Totally agree
Im definitely looking into the strainwave as my next mount!!
Great Interview!
thank you doing this interview
Your are welcome.
Having to connect a mount to a computer via a hand controller put me off the ioptron HEM15 so I'm glad they're moving away from that idea, the fewer cables the better, I just wish that suppliers gave a choice of cable lengths, as I usually use an ASIair or a PLL Eagle, I don't really need 1mtr+ long cables to connect everything up, though some ZWO gear does come with a standard and short length cable which is nice.
So where is the info on the HAE16? Just what I was looking for, but no info on any iOptron site.
That website of theirs is so old looking. I should have mentioned it to them when I was there.
I have the HAE69ec. Its a good mount. Not amazing but good enough. Some designe flaws with the iMate implementation that I would rather they have skipped.
What’s your most glaring weak point with the 69ec?
I’m considering one myself 🤔
Interesting.
