After three years of wait I have finally finished this composition about the dreaded VIII legion. While my music is mostly hybrid / orchestral stuff, I am and will remain a metalhead (after all I was in a metal band for 11 years). I love digging this side of my creativity when it comes to traitor legion, kind of like I did for the Thousand Sons and the Iron Warriors (btw next track will be from the Iron Within OST).
A huge thanks to Davey Perron (Ultra Nightmare) for recording the guitar like a chad. By coincidence we both released a track about the Night Lords almost at the same time, so if you want more brutal Night Lords music go check his video and his channel ! (Link in the description)

The inclusion of Nostraman with a different accent and tone is my favorite part. Truly reflective of the change in the legion itself as the Nostramans joined their Terran brothers.

Excellent song, absolutely fitting for the cruel and hateful nature of Night Lords, their inhumanity and twisted concept of "justice" knows no bounds. Truly, they was damned from the start.
That's why I think they are one of the most interesting legion / chapter.
@@LegioSymphonica Indeed, also i noticed the song had some hints of Bloodborne style music, i believe it is very suitable for the deeply corrupted and twisted mentally and probably physically population of the lawless Nostramans, in Nostramo you can find whatever you want from any kind of degeneracy and criminality.

Okay, but if we had a movie, where Night Lords were the primary antagonist, I'd want this as the intro theme. It's beautifully crafted, the animations and music blending with the words in a way to make the spine shiver.

As the Night Lords enjoyer, I must say that's the masterpiece. A long, terrifying prelude, telling about how cruel they are, how merciless they are, and end, that shows the Night Haunter himself, gazing upon the world, that slowly and painful dies by sons of Nostramo.
Yup, they was broken from the start, and they get, what they deserve. Night Lords "justice" have faded, then their bloodthirst is not.

Let me tell you my fellow heretics... this song hits twice as hard when you see the gorgeously badass visuals. I love it, it tickles my inner Night Lord. Phenomenal job as always. I love it more than Imperial soldiers boys love T'au girls.
For some extra grim darkness, play this song while reading any Wikipedia article about what the Imperial Japanese soldiers did to innocent civilians in Manchuria, Hong Kong, Nanking, Manilla, etc during WW2. Real life unimaginable acts of sadism and cruelty against real people, men women and children. Makes me shiver just remembering reading about that stuff... This song is an absolute masterpiece that really captures the evil of the Night Lords.

I love that it has lyrics now. It pains me to no end to know that Sol Invictus song has no lyrics to this day. Such a great songs, this channel is a true gem on Warhammer 40k music scene, and should make game soundtracks set in the universe.
Well Sol Invictus does have lyrics ... in a way. I mean they do sing Sol Invictus on repeat ahah. To do lyrics like this takes a lot of time to do and I don't always have that kind of time, though I totaly agree with you, choirs with lyrics are way better !
@@LegioSymphonica I know that they chant Sol Invictus ad infinitum in parts, but there is a part in the middle of the song when male choir voice sings something that i do not understand. its what was on my mind for so many months, it starts around 2:56 . i always wondered what he was singing.

Ave Dominus Nox. 💀🦇 All hail Decimus! This is an absolute modern masterpiece. From the scenery, the introduction, the cinematic, the imagery, and of course the symphony itself...this is just stellar. Not only captures what the Night Lords always have been, but really sets the mood for the tragic back story, and leading up to what they are today. When the Night Lords came, worlds fell to compliance just by hearing that they were near.
I literally feel like this is a song that they'd blast in the voxcasts planet-wide for days, slowly getting people to cower in fear, before descending onto the planet and wreaking absolute havoc.

Ah man, this might be my favourite track of yours so far. Dimmu Borgir is one of my favourite bands and there were some moments here that really felt Dimmu. But it's also distinctly 40k and its own thing. I would fucking love a whole album in this style 🤘 😁🤘

I wanted to add some light black metal influence in this one. I'm not a huge fan of black metal, but Dimmu Borgir is definitely one of my favorite band.
You should check out the track Ultra Nightmare made for the Night Lords (A Lesson in Darkness). Ode to both Dimmu and the Night Lords :)
