My take on it is that this is a King Crimson song played by a 21st century King Crimson, therefore with no other (That I know of yet) live King Crimson recorded version, this is legit, and sounds pretty amazing. Sadly, they did not play this when I saw them…
@@joaquinlezcano2372 Hmmm looks to me that your the one with Disgust that someone likes something you don't !! And Btw the Bruford/ Wetton era is the favorite of most KC fans !! But I like them all but some are better. I can't help that I grew up when all the Classic Prog were at their height in the 70s and saw them all many times. Chill man ✌🎶
I know this is an official release, but the lyrics should be "The stewardess bade me, but the captain forbade me." This is the style of Wetton's risque lyrics.
You have to appreciate this for what it is -- an inspired, technically adept rendition of a song from 1974. If you measure everything against the Bruford/Wetton "flying brick wall," of course you're going to be disappointed.
We really need to start spreading the image of Red fans being stubborn grandpas stuck in the past and normie kc fans trying hard to look cool so they can chill down a bit
Plus you got to take into account Jakko has to be able to sing multiple King Crimson styles from across all their eras. I love Adrian Belew, but he would not have sounded as good singing this old 70's stuff
Even though Gavin is my favourite drummer, there is nothing like Bill
Studio version with Bruford/ Wetton much better, but it's good to hear this !!
Immense track, this version is even more so.
Mel and company just never stop being fkn AMAZING.

@@birdzzzondayflu2489 What? This is not from Red (1974), this is live from around 2016. They never played this live until 2010's.
I love this version...
Okay but Bruford/Wetton one is far better !
@@ronniefarnsworth6465 why "ugh"? The sole idea someone having a different taste disgusts you?

@@joaquinlezcano2372 ??? Come on kid it's Ytube, people give their views freely !! This isn't China or Russia !! Just enjoy what you like.
Actually epic, I saw them in Prague 2017

i like to hear other musicians play these songs and parts. as much as i love, say, bill bruford, i'd like to hear how another would approach the song.
No Bruford, no Wetton, no fun
In other words, you're too busy comparing it to the original to give it a fair chance.
@@PitchSkullBlack in other words, this version sucks
Jakko>Wetton

first time in my life that I actually like the autotune effect on vocals..
Take the mic away from Jakko, I’m begging.
He sounds fantastic if you see them in person

Where's the wah?
Actually I rather like his singing
@@superslayerguy That's a very good point, he has to sing like the entire 50 years of King Crimson catalogue, and I think he does it very well.
Super boring stuff as Always from this piano bar cover version of king Crimson..
