It's only counterfeit if you try to sell a copy as an original. Buying these in the full knowledge that they aren't original cards and not reselling them is perfectly fine.
What do the backs of the Proxy Kings' look like? I know some places use their own backsides so that they can't be passed as anything else. Update: the backs of the cards look legit. You can't even really tell they're proxys.
Anyone know how I can tell the difference from these and the actual cards? I know they're ultra realistic proxies, but shouldn't there be a obvious difference between them without needing me to have the real and proxy side by side?
@@andyotero5663 Thats a good point that may have sliped past him in creating the video, I use a site he didn't mention and they will not let you use the original backs, I love the magic the proxy backs that I use.
I just go to office depot, print out 100 cards on 8 x 11 matte label paper, then cut them out and stick them to bulk MTG cards, for about 40.00 per devk.
I personally don’t like playing with proxies but in defense of them, if you already own a copy of the card and want to play it in multiple decks, then I think a proxy is ok instead of paying for multiple expensive originals or swapping your decks all the time. You can play test with proxies and decide if you want to get the real versions of the cards you want. And as long as you are not trying to pass them as originals, sell them as real cards, and your play group is ok with it, there’s nothing wrong.
F that if u wanna play with proxies/counterfeit cards just do it... Having to own a copy already is jut dumb IMO... Maybe Wotc should reprint the actual cards we need.
Pretty much. And there are people that try to sell these or trade them in a LGS , thats a major problem and for high value cards you can outright call the police on them. Any store that wants to keep up a reputation should not allow any counterfeits anywhere near their location and make sure people mark their proxy cards so its absolutely clear they are playtest cards (not having the Magic back is a big help, any "Proxy" with a magic card backside is questionable, as people will always play them in sleeves anyway).
It is unfortunate that people get scammed with these cards. I have a very large collection of nice looking proxies and have written proxy with a sharpie on the back of every single one of them. I only use them in my play group anyways.

I love proxy king, little pricey but the quality is great. I just make sure to write proxy on the back of the card with marker
Exactly what I do, i want to make sure I don’t ever accidentally trade/sell a proxy as a real card. Plus, ya know, what if I die

Proxys dont try to be counterfeits. Often they use different card backs, sometimes even with "proxy" and "not for sale" written on them.
@@IBloy just wish the guy could take the time to show that card back then,
Light test, rosette printing pattern in the green dot on the back... There are some other ways, not sure off the top of my head.

Proxy king sells counterfeits.
So these sites can't do custom cards, like from a fan set? Thats more the speed im hoping for.
Is the real zne polluted delta foil etched like the proxy in the video?

No. They don't let you print copyrighted stuff

This is counterfeiting not proxying
Boohoo go pay $80 for one card
Long as the backs say they are not for resale then they are proxies……also the print quality is likely better than WOTC. 😂
