New mowers! John Deere X734 and X739

- We've got a couple new mower on the farm to test out! A John Deere X734 and X739, brand new! These are both 2018 models and are very loud! But they get the job done! Thanks for watching!

These are my 2 choices. I test drove both today. Are the 739 tires going to tear up the lawn vs. The turf tires on the 734 or can you even tell?
Not a hater, I'd love to own either machine.. but is it normal to use only 3/4 of the cutting deck??? Pretty sure it could handle more than what ur giving her

Thanks for showing this. How many acres would you say you are covering on this mower? Would it be a good one for commercial use and abuse? Id like to have one for my back yard alone. I live on a lake and the back portion slopes steeply down to the water and is soggy most of the year. Do you think this type mower would work?
Tim Brown we cover 7-ish acres with these two mowers in about 2.5 hours. They get the job done well and do a great job cutting the grass. The X739 with its 4wd works great on steep slopes. The only downsides are that the ride is a bit bumpy unless you use cruise control, and they drink fuel like there's no tomorrow. But all in all, yes I would definitely recommend these mowers for personal use and abuse. They're tough machines that get the job done well.
Tim Brown, I bought an X739 with a 54" deck this summer because I, too, live next to a lake and deal with steep slopes -- >20% grade. The X739 handles the slopes with no problems. One watchout: much of our yard is shady so the turf isn't necessarily thick. The HDAP tires provide lots of traction, but can dig into the soil when it is wet, or even damp. And yes, the tractor likes gas!

I am thanking about trading my x310 in for a 700 serious. What is the purpose of the 4wd and 4 wheel steering? I am trying to justify the extra cost

does is the 739 have the 54" or the 60" mower?
How steep of an incline would you say the X739 could mow?

R G the X739 has a 54" deck. With the 4wd it works great on sharp slopes. Not sure what it's rated for but it works amazingly well on steep slopes such as ditches. Haven't had a single problem with it on slopes.
Thanks Ross, may need to buy one. Looks like it runs around 13K with mower deck. Does that sound right?
I believe the X739 is rated for an 18% slope, but I use mine on slopes >20% with no problems. Just go slowly. I priced 2 different Deere dealers, and one was about $1K lower than the other.

U need a Hustler super z zero turn mower with 72in rear discharge deck like we have
Nebraska Farmer 4 wheel steer does us plenty fine here.

a zero turn has zero capability when it comes to towing, hauling, catching, snow blowing, thatchin etc etc. so a zero turn is basically worthless on any size farm.
having 2 mowers is stupid when you could do the whole thing in half thr time with a ero turn mower from BAD BOY mowers spacificley the Rouge with a 36 hoarse cowasaki. and a 72 inch mower deck
