I respect your opinion but disagree. Sure he can work on his stage presence but musically & sonically it was amazing and captivating. Everyone I was with thought it was the best concert they’ve ever been to so 🤷🏼♂️
Thank you for sharing! Glad to hear you and your friends enjoyed the show. It’s possible he was just having an off night when I saw him 🤷🏻♂️ thanks for watching :)
I saw mk.gee at the Fonda in la (the second show) and i had the opposite reaction lol, it was the best show I’ve been to (granted I haven’t been to many) but the fact that the sound was as full as it was with only 3 of them was incredibly impressive. Especially the slower stuff he did was really moving. Anyways great video bro 🤙
i do agree that his stage presence could be better! the musicality is great though in my opinion. the whole energy seemed on point earlier in the tour. also, I find it interesting seeing how the live sounds of the album have changed through his various performances even before the album dropped. some of the technical aspects with the hardware and stuff seem more dialed in than before. in some sense, it seems like the sound of the concert is more in the direction that he wanted the album to go- especially with the live video and performance promo videos. it will for sure be interesting to see him hopefully do more in the future with live stuff!
I definitely hope he continues to experiment and expand on the sound of his live performances. Though personally I think the album sounds exactly like he wants it to, and the live stuff is an effort by him to expand and differentiate the sounds of his studio and live sound. Thanks for watching :)
Interesting takes, can't say i really agree but i respect your opinion. - I agree the wait-time from doors open to show start is too long. At least Zack did something while you waited though. Just saw him again on Friday and we stood around for 90 minutes just listening to his pre-show playlist. a little frustrating but not the end of the world if you know how to just not complain. - for only 3 guys, they played a fairly comprehensive set with a very full sound when I saw him back in 2023 and again this past Friday. From what I could see being front row and knowing a bit about what Zack is doing, there's actually minimal backing track stuff going on, save for maybe a click or a texture being looped for some of the songs. a majority of the sounds are actually being made live. Zack is actually playing all the percussion samples from the songs in the back, not just smashing shit aimlessly. - The lack of crowd interaction is interesting to me too but that might just be his personality and not some kind of aura he's trying to put on. He gives his guitar to the crowd at the end and meets people after the show to take pictures so i think he might just get in the zone to perform and doesn't have much to say but cares about the crowd as much as someone who interacts with it would. - Regardless of your experience not being what you expected, calling him a twink on UA-cam is crazy work lol. not necessarily the worst thing to say but definitely not the best choice of words for a small UA-camr, especially when it's hard to tell if you're saying it endearingly or in a derogatory way in this vid.
Hey! Thanks for another thoughtful comment :) Too bad about you having to wait around for the show to start, but honestly I would have preferred that to Zack’s set which for my friends and I really didn’t enhance the experience of being at the show. Also, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with a 3 piece band, but I don’t believe his music is best performed live by a group so small with the minimal changes he’s made to the structure of his songs. The 3 of them did a fine job, I just wish there was more. Maybe they were having an off night at my show? Who knows 🤷🏻♂️. I also agree that he’s just being himself by keeping crowd interaction to a minimum, but I think there’s room for him to interact with the crowd more on his terms. He was very graceful chatting with fans after the show and he could bring more of that energy on stage imo. Lastly, the twink comment was not derogatory. We love twinks on this channel. I can see how someone could take that the wrong way though so thanks for pointing that out and thank you for watching :)
He’s seems like someone that enjoys music and making it coming up w new sounds and tones. But Not the fame and star aspect of it. That what makes him a goat. His music outshines his character. True art. Nowadays it’s character outshining there art. Wack art. Microwave cheap lil tiktok sounds.
interesting take… i think where mk.gee is now and who he is as an artist is kinda beginning to meet mass critique as people decide how they feel about him. in terms of concerts i’ve been to his show was by no means the most elaborate, but i could tell the focus was on creating an experience and being more intimate. my venue was so packed that i watched at the bar with a friend via a tv for a better view for most of the show and still found myself having an amazing time. i think mk.gee is just being himself, no gimmick or persona and it’s in that where i find charm. he’s a star to me and the epitome of being effortlessly cool but i guess thats subjective.
Glad to hear you enjoyed your show! I also like that Mk.Gee doesn't seem to be "putting it on" in regards to his persona, but I still think he could show more of the "real him" on stage, a lot of it comes out while he is performing, but between songs I think there is more there, which will probably come out gradually in the coming years. Thanks for watching :)
@@TheContentReview nah yeah ofc, what i meant is that. The concert is the perfect example of what Mk.gee is. If you didn’t like it then the whole artistry of Mk.gee is not for you. Not here for stage presence or for him being relatable or something.
@@yy-pt2lh I like Mk.Gees music so I’d say he’s definitely “for me”. And concerts are a collective experience, no one wants to go to a show where the artist they’re seeing is playing behind a wall. Why perform in front of crowds if their experience is meaningless? I’m sure Mk.Gee cares about his audience when playing live, and I’m sure he can put on a better show than he is doing on his dream police tour. @@TheContentReview I guess you just expected a different show. I went to the Boston cocert two days ago. I cried like 4 times during his set. everything is intentional, the way the lighting is hitting him from behind so it creates more of a silhouette rather than too see him clearly. those decisions where made so that the experience was ONLY about the music. And ironically enough that made it 10x more personal and engaging. At least in the front row I saw a little bit more over 10 other people crying. truly a concert that changed my life and a concert I'm sure changed the lives of other people.

I was there too and it was the most surreal experience.

Idk why but I find this hilarious. The format of the video is so random but I enjoyed it

good review dude. I'm sure tour fatigue plays in a part as well for nights like these but you made some solid points.
You're right that tour fatigue is probably a factor at play. Thanks for watching :)

what do you mean by twink??
I’m affectionately referring to a body type/physical form. Thanks for watching :)
Mk Gee is a bit of a purple rain guitar tone gimmick
