Been coming here since I was 6 years old. I remember trying to stay up all night with my friends during high school so we can get the freshest donuts as soon as they open. Nowadays go there basically every morning for coffee and maybe a pastry before work. Great food, and great people!
I know the full story of Dunk Donuts. I lived in Elmwood Park in the 1950s. It was located at Grand & Harlem back then there was a alley going east to west just north of Grand Ave the east alley side is there today. It was first on the west end of the alley then moved across the street to matching alley on the other and it is still there. They were stores next to the alleys on both sides of Harlem. On the west side of Harlem was Goldblatts Dept store. Then regular donuts were 5 cents and the center filled yeast cherry and pineapple ones were 10 cents. They were first with the name Dunk Donuts and did not copy any name.

It’s amazing that they have not received a trademark lawsuit from dunkin doughnuts yet.
They had that name back in the 1950s I am old enough to know that and had the donuts then. And were at Grand &Harlem then.
