Understanding our fears and overcoming obstacles is why we're here. Glad you're getting it done. Everything else is a waste of time, mostly.

      Thanks!
It is! 🤩 I had a custom wheel set made last year, better for my kind of bikepacking here in northern Michigan woods. Switched out the 26x4 to 27.5x3.25

Just a thought. The military is now teaching meditation practices to deal with PTSD. And biking certainly makes it hard to be anxious. I wonder though about carrying the bear spray. It means you have decided to be be fearful of something that is very very unlikely. It's like a constant reminder and sign saying "I am afraid". In this info age these very rare things get attention far beyond their actual probability. Like Churchill said...we have nothing to fear but fear itself.

Biking, especially on more technical trails and terrain, my focus is primarily on not wiping out and less on other things. But, during those more quiet times, my mind goes into overdrive. Thus the “training”.

We've had a winterless winter in Ohio too! It makes me sad, but trying to make the most of it as well. Wish you all the best continuing to work on your fear.

Thank you🙂 I watch you hike solo and think what a courageous young woman you are and it does inspire me!

Oh, how wonderful! I am in a similar situation. Eleven years older than you and very much want to do a bikepacking trip. Here in Georgia we have the TNGA bikepacking event which is out of my league, but I am trying to do the forest service road segments of TNGA a little bit at the time. One of my limitations is not being mechanic-savvy enough to handle many problems greater than flat tire. I do love the state of Michigan and am very excited about this (did you say MOOR?) and hope to learn from you. Admiration!

Thank you for watching! And yes, Michigan is an amazing state. I took a bike repair course at our local bike shop. And plan to practice a lot of what I learned to (hopefully) retain enough to get me out of the woods for a pick up if needed. The route I intend to do is the Michigan Off Road Expedition. I explain it in my other video “where to go?”

Maybe youtube suggested me your video to show we all have stuff to go thru... Really nice seeing you working on it with good vibe! Personally I would say if you have a bear spray youʼre covered security wise... Remember youʼre in nature. Hopefully this isnʼt a stress about humans... If it is, remember people do just fine elsewhere without overthinking and believing. Never underestimate the power of your mindset. Cheers from Switzerland!

Unfortunately I’ve sustained trauma from humans, never an animal. But, me and my friends did come across a very gnarly raccoon once. Thankfully I can outbike them 😆
      Thanks for watching from Switzerland!

@@KamieOutdoors Well Iʼm in the same boat... Always told myself malevolence of others will not destroy me... There is a saying in French "trop bon, trop con..." which means "too nice, too stupid..." but I prefer believing in people and look stupid than screw my life (and opportunities) doubting everyone like some do... Life is ment to be lived. Do it justice and live it no matter what is thrown at you... Risk is just part of the equation... You cannot LIVE without it... Embrace it. OK, to a certain point donʼt get me wrong... (At least thatʼs what I tell myself, who knows...)
P.S. Raccoons are so cute, they just look like undisiplined cats/dogs... Well, we donʼt have them here so cannot say too much about them...^^
