Thank you youtube algorithm. I don't play Violin but I absolutely love the creative and ingenious way this device functions.

Wolfgang installed one of his sound posts in my violin - a Guadagnini copy of good professional quality, made around 1770. I have been a professional violinist for many years and was absolutely astonished by the amazing improvement in sound quality. It was like suddenly having an instrument worth 10 times as much. I can thoroughly recommend these sound posts. Thank you Wolfgang!

woah 1770 thats crazy cool how something so old is still playable

It’s a copy. Original made 1770. But there are many instruments made back then that are stilled played.

I didn't know about this sound post. Seems very interesting! Could you please tell me what kind of things felt better in detail? Like sound became clearer or simply bigger or wamer etc...??

Very interesting design! I wonder if the screw ever loosens from the vibrations of the instrument being played?

I know to change strings one at a time to keep tension on the instrument and avoid the sound post falling. But if the sound post is properly fit and snug, it should NOT fall even with no strings or tension. Correct?

Like the inventor I hate those spiky jabber adjusters . I made two new tools to hold the wooden post in place .But I still had to measure the wooden post and shape the ends. I like the embedded magnet idea though . but when you take off the wheel you cannot adjust the post position without starting it all again. Swings and roundabouts .Full marks for ingenuity .

Believe that Mezzo Forte sells them through their site. It's quite expensive, though; $600 USD, lol! Probably makes sense that they put it on their Premium Line Carbon Fiber Violin. Wouldn't reccomend on a wooden Insturment.

There was a store called The Sound Post in my hometown... they sold guitars, drums, violins... everything. They even taught music lessons.
Now it's a Game Stop. Fucking bummer.

It ruins the mystique of the idea behind wood stringed instruments I suppose.
