    Excellent video! I will do this to our onions if they grow. Also, it’s nice that you mentioned about not wasting the parts you trimmed. Be well.

    I don't know what pinch the neck off means and I'm planning on growing a lot of onions this year .Are these spring onions or do they grow into full sized onions

    • @gardenlikeaviking
      @gardenlikeaviking  Рік тому +2

      these are long day bulb/storage onions that will grow into full sized onions... "pinch the neck off" means the plant will fall over and make a crease at the base and once that happens the onion won't grow into a nice big bulb anymore just a tiny little shallot

    Where do you recommend getting those nice seedling containers those onions are in and the black drip trays they're on top of?

    Hi, i just starting to grow onion chives about 2 weeks ago. I got several plants. The shipping company left my package in warehouse for nearly a week before sending to me. The leaves were rotted but the roots survive. I had to chop off the leaves until less that an inch from the neck. They are in well drain pot, i water when the soil dry. Today, i found most of them have the leaves, only 2 inch in length snapped off at the neck. Do you ever have this kind of problem? The root so far still fine, not rotting or shrivelled. What made them just broke off and will the root grow new leaves? I'm not in 4 season country and right now we are in draught season with abnormally hot and intense sunlight
