Hi Chris, I like to think of myself as a novice bricky. Practicing with small jobs around the back garden, and I really enjoy your videos and appreciate the advice. Thanks for taking the time to make these videos and share.
Nice clean brickwork and joints Chris 👍 Not a bricky myself (engineer) but have had online visual tuition during pandemic when cant play golf from Steve and Alex vids and others. 😂
Alright pal just a question or 2. I'm building a single story 3metere out FRM house and 4m wide. I'm at the bricklaying strange now had pad poured so now I'm startingwe cavity has to hav 100mm.what is they data stick ,do u pin a line to damp course of the existing house an then do u run it back to ur corner where ur building an what do u do then how do get the lever other end
Okay there are two ways of getting your levels. 1 is old school by knocking in a datum pug by the existing damp course and traversing your level and straight edge(box ali profiles are great for this ) and transferee the levels to your corners. 2. Datum peg again by the dpc of the existing house and hire a rotary laser level to transfer the level to your corners. Once. that is done dry lay your courses to check the bond, lay your corners. You can then out profiles up or just measure the courses. Hope that has helped
Another very informative video Chris, looking forward to seeing the roof going on. 2,700 bricks is a big ole garage mate. Did you put ties in and build the pillars after?
I’m in the Staffordshire Moorlands area, i did work in Warrington-on an extension but the fuel was astronomical, so a bit cautious about travelling too far out! Where are you and what work is it you want doing?
@@foundationgood123 I'm based in SE London. I potentially require a double storey side wrap extension on a house I am interested in purchasing. Can you assist?

@@foundationgood123 I understand. Thank you.
do u not need to put in any columns in the brickwork,i thought for a certain length of wall u require a colum
Yes indeed, they’re built in last as usual practice see 13.09
Nice work bit dodge single skin with no internal piers
Ties put in and piers built later standard practice (See Next Vid)

Mark your gauge on the level, 1 tool 2 jobs done.
I didn't need to bud it was on my profiles the level was put there to save me continually plumbing up
@@foundationgood123 sorry Chris I just meant for the freehand stuff to save getting tape out. I admire your work and attitude fella.
@@baldyslapnut. never thought of that In 35 years, simple really😎
No DPC on the lintel Chris?
not necessary on a garage bud
Jeez!!!!
David Moyes look-a-like.
😆
Antonio up top on trowel, with declan rice on mixer keeping the job right!
Hi i need a builder would Leicester be too far for you
Surely you’d do this in blocks
What an eye saw that wold be
No not if you treat it like facework and paint it..... would look nice mate!
Shouldn’t there be piers in that length of wall or is there no regs for garage walls.
Great work as always. Not sure best way to get in contact with you for getting a quote. Have sent message via Instagram. Thanks
