@JamesOnGuitar thanks for this video. Seeing as you've had pretty much all the two-rock amps, what would you recommend between the CRS, Bloomfield, TS1, and Vintage Deluxe? I plan to buy 2 from the list but do not have any close by so I'll have to make a blind purchase. Looking for the broadest range of tones between the two amps. Thanks!
I would love to see a Silver Sterling Signature reviewed one day if it hasn't already. We all know how great the cleans on that amplifier (and other Dumble SSS style amps are), but what many don't know is that the Sterling can actually dish out surprising high gain tones as well.
@@ParanoidDaveOsbourne That's also something I would like to see as well. Honestly though, if simply using it as a clean pedal platform, I personally would find it hard to justify overpassing them all and just going with the traditional clean.
That is also something but I’m curious to hear that cathode follower tube that is supposed to make SSS unique some even say it will not make any difference when you are in a less than 100 watt situation(so when amp is not fully cranked)
Sounds Killer both of them , for a allrounder I would take the CRS because of the Reverb without that its hard to play , a spring pedal never sounds the same. How about running them both together ? ;D with the TS1 as a "boost" for the mid range and the CRS as a foundation with reverb
I'd say the TS1 needs the UA Golden Reverberator. I have found that to be a remarkable reverb pedal and the Spring setting sounds just as good as any real spring reverb I have ever heard. Great playing James! Fun comparison.
Great comparison! Love your vids man! Didn’t you used to own a Bloomfield Drive too? Why did you get rid of it? Been on the fence between the TS1 and the Bloomfield for my humbucker guitars. Any feedback is appreciated!
need to play the M.B. Sunburst Strat thru the TS1, need to set the treble higher 3oclock, mids 12oclock and w/ deep switch engaged try the bass knob at 11:30oclock, master at 12 & gain at 11, use your guitar volume, also add the Duellist Pedal Srv glass mode. and play hard SrV, with fresh strings..!
None as yet! But maybe one day. Pretty happy with this one, but i would be interested in making another with all sorts of mods! Just made a super reverb though, so maybe i’ll just do them with that

Would love to see it vs Classic Reverb, I really want to know if they are too different or not worth to “upgrade” to SSS when both are clean

The only good clean comparison of these two amps and convinced me that the CRS is the right amp for me

If i wasn’t soon to be building an old fender type outboard reverb, you’d have just cost me some money!
