- C.P.E. Bach 12 Variations about the spanish folia WQ 118/9
The spanish folia (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Folia) is a harmonic pattern from the baroque period. C.P.E. Bach did just write a sketch as a theme because the harmony was known at this time, so you can hear my version of the theme.
Piano: Alvin Devonas (for further information: alvindevonas.ch)
Sound: Flurin Devonas
Recorded on the 6.6.17
ZHdK Konzertsaal 3
The theme is just a harmonic pattern. I added some melody ;) All the variations follow the score
I thought hear Rachmaninoff.
C.P.E sounds so modern!
CPE Bach is wild here, in var. 8 especially
Delightful. Thank you for sharing
Amazing!
Oh I am really impressed at this beauty
SChoenberg??? So good!
this is the theme of the final part from toccata no 7 ""alla octava stezza? scarlatti?
Amazing piece, I am happy that is still not very well known
:-)
This is the ancient portuguese theme “la folia”. You can find variations from Lully, Corelli, Vivaldi, Haendel (the famous Sarabande), Giuliani and Sor.
@@luigiquartucci5844 Of course! I didn't mean La Folia!!! I meant this particular set of Variations by C. Ph. E. Bach!
@@luigiquartucci5844 And also in modern music
@@anoNEMOs would love to listen some modern la folia actually! Can you recommend some songs?

Delish
The sheet music doesn't match the audio
It doesn't have to match, this is 18th century music, very improvisation like. :)
@@bornaerceg9984 The 18th century written music is the least improvisation like thing in earth.
