"A, we don't have a pretty boy playing guitar... BUT NOT TO MEAN MARTY'S UGLY." I CANNOT WITH U DAVE HAHAHA
Was Dave talking about Kirk? Cuz Kirk is the most beautiful man I've ever seen in my life
@@Maya-yw8eg He was talking about Jeff Young
@@Maya-yw8eg Kirk Cameron?? Thought he was on Growing Pains.
@@JacksonPearl81 That's what came to my mind initially, considering Dave fired him for allegedly sleeping with his girlfriend only about a year before this interview.
@@IgnorancEnArrogance
Not "sleeping", "flirting"
God I want Dave back this young again. Seeing him getting older is killing me. 😔
lmao let him age
It's not only him ...we are getting old too 😅😅
I love old Dave just as much. Many people at his age give up and retire. Not him, he's still kicking ass on stage and his older voice sounds more menacing.
Look in the mirror, you’ll see something worse: getting older you too.
Dave had beautiful hair back then!. He was so attractive!.
He is eternally sexy! My favorite redhead!
Yes he was, woo! 💘
@@JeniOnly he still is!
@@charlenepickett6414 of course!
God, I love Dave so much.
yes
Yes he was a very pretty boy. I changed my opinion of the guy.
He a conceded blabber mouth. Very in love with himself. “ the creator of Metallica “ lol
You and Mustaine should do a Skype call. Oh wait. That's the other Dave. 😁
@@tun-tunninc.6492 ya but I hate watching grown men cry
So do I
When Dave Mustaine is calm and actually ready to be interviewed or have a conversation, he's quite the interesting character, with an IQ well above normal, but, amped up, playing live, dealing with life or just too damn busy, no one's a good conversationalist at that point! I met this lineup in Dallas on this tour and it was awesome! I'm a drummer and Nick actually got into telling me about his drum rack, where it came from and how everything was stowed as we were watching it happen! In all actuality, everyone was quite conducive once they had a chance to wind down from the show and chill with people! The big thing is, don't be starstruck, just have human interaction when you meet well-known people, you'd be amazed!
I would love that to meet Dave and discuss music and other topics bc he is very intelligent
@@charlenepickett6414 agreed, thank you! He will treat people the exact same way they treat him... It's an amazing concept!
My roommate at the time was actually friends with him, that's how we ended up backstage, side stage, going out for sushi & sake after that & just chillin'!! As I said before, other than Nick talking to me about his drum kit, music was never mentioned the rest of the night!! The last thing I want to do when I get home from work is talk about what I do for a living!!
@@benttwisted210 that had to be the best day or night ever!
@@charlenepickett6414 one of... I also ended up doing production work in Dallas and I've met Metallica, (I was in the snake pit) Skid Row, my roommate showed up at our house with Sebastian Bach to get "stuff", Judas Priest, we were friends with all the guys from Pantera, except Phil, of course, my roommate was also friends with Kerry King of Slayer and we went to the MTV Bang in the New Year's with Slayer recording in Denver, Colorado! We had backstage laminates and all, hanging out at the embassy suites afterwards, MTV had an entire floor rented out! Of course, Rikki Rachtman was there hosting...I smoked with Tom!! I've got some cool ass stories! For some strange reason, some people don't believe them, I could care less though!! Thank you for being appreciative of my stories! 😎
@@benttwisted210 that is so amazing! I would be do nervous to talk to metall royalty like Metallica and Slayer but I guess the deal is to not act starstruck! They want to be treated like normal people but it is hard when you are in the presence of greatness!
1:53 Megadave was a meme back then lol
😂😂😂
Too funny! As we all know, cell phones didn't even have text messaging yet! As a matter of fact, in 1990, we were paying through the nose for minutes!! Then came, paying thru the nose for text messages, and theeeeen...along came handheld computer/camera/pda/jukebox/clock/gps///phones 🤣
@@benttwisted210 who
Even though I don't have the same fanboy nostalgia about this band, man... this interview truly was at their peak. Rust In Peace was the best thrash record ever. Hands down.
@FREE SPEECH I am sorry but Rust in Peace is better.
@@baranniniphonenu8888 for me peace sells but whos bying? is the best.
'Dave Mustaine's ego project' -> sounds about right Dave!!
Nobody:
Dave: YOU KNOW?
Thank you for this. This is now my fav Mustaine interview on YT, him in his prime!
The Dave’s are beautiful.
This was the best megadeth lineup but with Chris and Gar and kiko and Dirk definitely the top 3 megadeth lineup's for sure.
Lol dirk hasn’t even played on any albums. I liked the Chris Broderick era, Endgame is their modern masterpiece imo
@@ChipmunkAsylum I’ve met dirk many times and jammed with him before. Trust me, this lineup is definitely best since Marty and Menza.
@@EricJaegerMusic I'm sure he let you play on the new album too dude. Quit your bullshit.
@@jorozco13yearsago40 no I didn’t play on an album with him lol. I jammed with him one time at NAMM show.. you think nobody has ever played with him before? Lol
Fuck you!...Dave..David...Nick and Marty is the best Megadeth line up.
I love how he says they're not rock and roll. A lot of metal bands refer to themselves as rock and roll and it's always sounded really odd to me.
Carnivore were and still are Reich Und Roll 😂
I think they showered before the interview.
It must have been Saturday!
Marty was definitely into dippety doing his hair with moose...and still is.
Joke is on the rest of us. Wish I had Friedmans locks
C'mon Dave, you whole band was full of handsome menXDD in 90's all 4 could be in magazine cover! But we got what u meant
My fave 90s heroes! 🤘🏻
Dave had a pattern of taking potshots at ex bandmates, eh?
He’s been crying for a good twenty years that he got booted out, but treated his own members like trash.
Do not sympathize with him, never did.
Guy is a great writer but guess that’s all he ever was.
Uh, yaaaa, since the dawn of the first line-up change!
@N K Interesting. 🤔😂
@@eno8759 great guitarist and his voice sounds amazing with megadeth there’s not another voice like it and we forgot some of his ex band mates sold gear for drug money and also Jeff young trying to steal his gf or some shit
Yeah sometimes but there was usually a grain of truth in what he said though
I remember watching this when I was a 13yr old lad.
Epic babeness 🖤🤘🏻
Watching this on 29/06/2021...Funny how the band kept changing.
I❤ Dave Mustaine!!!
ellefson looks so ridiculously high in this clip it's unreal
He needs to rub one out lol
All jokes aside if you read his autobiography or the new rust in peace novel, he was very much sober at this point sorry to kill your vibe
Dave Mustaine was so hot!
That was peak line up Megadeth
Jr has a nice voice. Curious if he was singer
Backing vocals
@@benttwisted210 I meant lead singer
@@HeCute_ you might want to look it up, there's a possibility he sang for one of his side projects
Megadeth would be my fav band if he could sing, I still love them though.
Interesting views from Dave back in 1990.
Think they were both clean and sober at this point
No they weren't. Mustaine revealed in his latest autobiography they'd been high on cocaine during recording of RIP, even though in the interviews from 1991-2 he was saying he'd quit drugs before RIP was recorded.
RUST IN PEACE BEST ALBUM BEST ERA OF MEGADETH 💀
Nope, Peace Sells is best era. Rust can have second
Call it what you will what you want, Megadeth fan for 30yrs, Metallica for 10
I was a fan of both when they first started but Metallica lost me when the Black album came out!
James Hetfield > Marge Simpson
@@vincent2053 🤣
@@vincent2053 Lmao😂
@@benttwisted210 Same... And Megadeth lost me at Youthanasia... Slayer at whatever came after Divine Intervention, Anthrax after Persistence of Time
Rust still smokes. Definitely in my top ten.
All the thrash dudes of late 80’s were speaking trash about Bon Jovi, but the dude proved he’s a consistent rock guy.
1:35 ellefson holding his own..........
Just why:(
@@aidantoland5724 you'll have to ask him

I liked the LoMenzo, Drover Bros. line-up.
Here after they kicked dave out the band
dave just wake up for that interview or what?
You like this? You like this? Well no more.
He fired other Dave for having a younger girlfriend. Wtf
7:18 💀
Funny how they're talking about how much better it is having good musicians in the band but after nick and marty, Dave would never hire musicians like that again
Are you serious? Kiko and Dirk are fucking amazing. But yeah since they’re not the classic lineup.
@@H.E.M. Oh wow I never said they were shit... They having been in the band very long, I wasn't really thinking of them when I said that because they are a big improvement although we havnt really heard dirk in studio , I wouldn't say that they are quite as good but yeah they are the best since marty and nick
Say what? Remember Chris Broderick?
@@uncleruckus3149 Oh alright I understand Marty and Nick (rip) were fucking amazing let’s see what Kiko and Dirk together can bring us in the next album, also apologies for my comment. It was hostile, must’ve had a bad day or something 😂
Pop-queer.
LOL Dave Mustaine thinks he's equivalent to Marty Friedman on guitar that is hilarious
They are both equally talented individuals, but then again I feel Chuck Schludiner was a guitar God
You have to remember that Dave is a songwriter and rhythm guitarist too and he's pretty damn good at it. I don't think he means specifically lead guitar.
Mustaine is guitar player, not singer, he sings because at that time they didn't find the indicate person to sing for the band so Ellefson tell him, “dude, why you don't sing” and well great singer my man HAHAH
Equals in their own rights bro! With each comes their own style, there was stuff that neither could play of the other's!
They worked pretty damn good together. I think you’re just looking to talk shit.
Tahahaha
Backstabber!!!
Dave Mustaine's Ego Project? It always was DMEP lol. The guy bashes 4:45 Bon Jovi, 9 years later writes and records I'LL BE THERE, ha ha. What a hypocrite.
I’ll be there is 10x the song Bon Jovi could ever write
Just like Kerry king, talking shit about other metal bands while appearing on Sum 41 video , or Hetfield bashing glam rock bands while he came up with Nothing else matters and Mama said type of crap.
@@vicrattlehead6386 You read my mind mate lol
You definitely have to be careful throwing stones when you live in a glass house, we're all guilty of it though!
