Love the 'Seventh Star' album, but Glenn was in a terrible shape at the time both physically and mentally due to drugs, plus his vocal chords and nose was fucked up due to a fight backstage shortly before the 'Seventh Star' began. Ray Gillen saved the day. (R.I.P:). Glenn signed on to do a Tony Iommi solo album and tour, not a Sabbath record. It was pressure from record company and the suits running the show, that turned 'Seventh Star' into a Sabbath album, wether you consider it one or not.

@woodsteel and btw hopefully there will be no new vocalist in heaven & hell. Dio cant be replaced. Ofc it'd be nice to see iommi doing something but calling it something else then.

Why the criticism? Hughes has been friends with Butler and Iommi for about 40 to 50 years. He has a different vocal style to Dio, but let's not forget they were friends too.
@shawnknuijt1 Personally, I admire Hughes' voice. Jorn Lande has also really good voice, but I disagree that he sings better. As a matter of fact, you have to consider that Hughes is not a heavy metal singer while Lande plays in his own field. That's why somebody can feel that he is a better singer which I don't believe.

Hughes sang great on this! I actually don't think Jorn is that great on here because he's trying to mimic Ronnie and is coming off a bit more like Tony Martin trying to mimic Ronnie. Glenn's singing like Glenn and that's the mark of a legendary singing. They sound like themselves. It's the whole reason they became legendary in the first place.

You are 100% correct. Same thing with Twisted Sisters Love is for suckers album, and WASP The Crimson Idol. Suits running the show.

Jorn is the only one that can impersonate Ronnie! Glenn was ok in Purple but still was annoying trying to sing with Coverdale.
