I have the 16visx and have killed some nice sized bluefin on it with minimal fuss, something that usually is not easy to do. Obviously this statement comes with context as hooking big bluefin is going to beat you up no matter what gear. But this, paired with a United Composites 7' viper rail rod and 100# line works wonders for me.
@@fadelover123 I don’t sea any other video on UA-cam with a Makaira 16, I actually do just want to see it in someone’s hands, but I do agree, these are more aimed towards trying to get you to buy vs showing how capable the reel is, he says the same stuff about almost every reel. CharkBait gives genuine over view of products if that is what you are looking for
Incorrect. With PENN's "Made in USA" lineup, all parts that are "reel parts" [gears, sideplates, frames, drags, etc] are US-made. Parts that are "standardized machine parts [screws, springs, ball-bearings] are purchased from industrial suppliers, and may be from a variety of places. Nothing changed, just the labeling. PENN never made their own screws, springs, etc.
These things are sick! Tested one for land based shark fishing here in SW Florida and it did NOT disappoint! Highly recommend this reel🤙
Just bought one. Might be a little anal but makes a noise when I turn the handle makes a little clicking noise? Does yours make any noise
Great looking reel! Drag clicker definitely loud!
Thank you I entered the the contest. Great videos
these are cow killers out here in so cal.
They have the beefiest design and some insane performance
IMHO, the VISX series is Penn's best reels they ever made. They are amazing reels at a good price for what you are getting.
