- Yesterday a survey was pushed out by Blizzard Entertainment with questions regarding a Classic version of The Burning Crusade expansion! Here are my comments on the survey Blizzard didn't send to me.

I'm waiting a long time to TBC and Wotlk oficial servers .....
I started playing WoW in the Burning Crusade, as a lvl 1. I would prefer to just copy my classic toon to BC this time around. I would want the same thing to happen when Classic Wrath comes out :)

Yes. It’s an Easter Egg to the game they put in TBC.
I've been saying we should be able to use our Classic characters from the beginning and keep the Vanilla servers that wont go past 60. I think they should be copied. Only time will tell what happens but this is making me wanna get some time and get back on! I STILL HAVEN'T HIT 60 ON MY LOCK!!!

I rather have my current realm turn into TBC that way you keep your guild community but also realm community and you might run less into the problem of people having the same name when you transfer/copy over to a classic realm cause the majority of players will play TBC when it comes out.
At first I would have said transfer my character to a BC server but I'm liking the idea of COPYING more and more. That way I have a Classic version AND a BC version of my toons. Yes, there are problems with that route, like potentially losing your name or people having a TON of stuff stashed up, but I think those problems are still pretty minor compared to the problems the other options will cause. Cuz I honestly think that most people don't want to start all over again, unless you are a draenei or blood elf, then yeah, you need to start at level 1. I don't think getting an automatic 58 is a good idea either. There's a lot of people that don't want BC at all, which is fine, so just pushing the entire game to BC is a terrible idea too. Have the people that want to go to BC receive the option to copy their toons, yes plural, not just one of them, to a BC server. And it needs to be free. People don't want to pay a sub and then pay again for "new" content that's over 10 years old. That would infuriate people to no end. And as far as the server thing is concerned, I think that if you are coming from say, Windseeker, then there needs to be a suggestion, like "If you're coming from Windseeker, we suggest you go to BC Sever A and if you're coming from Pagle, we suggest you go to BC Server B," that kind of thing. I think it would help in the name situation and in the community situation, but give you the option to say no if you want to go to a different server with a different community. At least that's my thoughts on that. Hope Classic BC comes out soon! :)
Hey Icosiol, old Army MSG here. Love the video but disagree with one thing. The new characters in BC had to be started from level 1, so regardless if you want to play a Blood Elf or a Draenei you will have to start at 1. Everyone i knew made a Blood Elf. I do agree that paying for a transfer is garbage, though. Copying your existing character is the only real option there.
Aerroverse thank you for your service brother! That need to level from 1-70 should remain, but only for those new races and Faction classes. I don’t believe everything should start at 1 or 58 to begin Classic TBC.

Thraex my guess is yes on that one. I have never believed Classic+ to ever be in the cards for the future.
If i transfer money from one account to another, it is removed from the account i transfer from. So I would think 'none of the above' as I would be interested in keeping a copy of my character on a classic server.
On the point of if I want the server to progress into TBC, or stay in classic and copy over to another server which goes into TBC I'd go with the first one as you get to progress together with the community into TBC. This is because I intend to play TBC.
For the guys who intends to stay on Vanilla Classic, they will probably want it so that you'd had to copy your character over to a TBC server in order to play it.
2:05 No, It does not. Transfer means taking one character from one location and sending it to another location. Nowhere in that sentence does it say or imply that Blizzard will buck you 59 levels (or any experiance at all).
Grumpy Old Wizard I am saying for that question Blizzard is asking if we would prefer to move our current character to a realm that will remain Vanilla Classic, while our current server becomes TBC. That’s my interpretation of the question presented.
Copy tune is absolutely the perfect idea. Also why not have some fresh TBC servers as well.
5:05 Copying to the PTR is different. The clone you made to the PTR was temporary. Just before a patch goes live the PTR goes down and is deleted. If every account clones their toons to other servers, think of what that will do to the economy and realm stability of those new servers.
Grumpy Old Wizard if everyone duplicates their gold I can see that being an issue, but maybe at my old age I am blind to how else a copy could harm things that much. The more I think about this the more I am starting to fall on a fresh server where everyone begins at level 1. The consequences from transfers or copies just seems to be a messy one.
But here I was just talking about how physically easy it is for Blizzard to allow the copying of toons.

seen from blizz`s view point then you want an "free" high level, High geared extra toon... I do agree with you on the copy part, just dont think its gonna happen unless you pay the big bucks

I only started playing WoW during TBC so I don't know how they did it back then but I'm assuming you stayed on the same server whether you bought the expansion or not . If that's the case, why can't they do that this time? Are the servers too small to have classic and TBC running together?

Galerak that’s how it was done before. All servers just morphed in to TBC. The idea behind keeping Vanilla and TBC separate this time is to keep Classic Vanilla intact. If they get rid of Vanilla Classic they create a void that a big market always demands.
Yeah ok, I understand that. But when the original TBC was released we had the option of buy the expansion and update our client or don't buy the expansion and stay in classic, there was no server switching. Why not just add the option to the blizzard launcher to update to TBC with a warning saying that the upgrade would be irreversible? Wouldn't that be better than the options they are offering us?
I get your point though, copying your toon across to TBC server would then give you the best of both worlds.
Copying is not an option that Blizzard is putting on the table. I could think of a couple of reasons they are reluctant to do this. You wouldn't be just "copying" your toon. You would also be "copying" the gold that toon. If you are "copying" multiple characters you could easily abuse that system.
Second, How is "copying" a character any different from "boosting" a character? Which the classic community has always been opposed to...

Grumpy Old Wizard you bring up a point that another person brought up that I didn’t consider when copying, and that’s the Gold issue. That’s why I brought up “unintended consequences” regardless of the way forward. It’s impossible to know how everything will transpire once enacted. Maybe a transfer is the correct way to go.
Two copies of the same character is messy and confusing. They should plan to move all current servers to TBC, and create 3 new types of servers:
* continuation vanilla, which will always be vanilla and where existing characters can migrate to if they want to stay in vanilla
* pristine vanilla, which will always be vanilla and where new characters can roll
* pristine TBC, which will always be TBC, and where everyone starts from lvl 1

Tarinia Doomarenn no word on how it will be implemented yet. I don’t think many folks will want to level from 1-70. I know I don’t.
@@Icosiol You'll probably have the option to lvl from 1-70. Most people brag about TBC so much........ So I bet they'll give 2 options
If they make server classic then server tbc it would fix this.
Copying is open to abuse though, I transfer all my 5k gold to my warrior and copy him, then mail that to my mage and copy that over, then i have 10k, I think it should be transfer, not copy, I think they should upgrade all the servers to TBC and create new classic servers to transfer to, because then that would create a smaller but healthier cluster of classic servers, since most of classic servers are currently dead beyond max level content which isn't great for the classic community.
Zhaine1989, so that’s an interesting problem, but could that not be fixed by freezing gold transfer during the time of copying toons? I see the copying time as being similar to the Classic name/toon save we did a couple weeks from release. What we as the consumer must realize though is that no matter what route is chosen it will have unintended consequences. Unfortunately we won’t know what those are until the decision is put in to action.

@@Icosiol I may be in the minority here but I am against copying whether orr not it would damage the economy, due to then having effictively a free character on the classic and then another on the TBC server, I have thunderfury on my warrior, but I would not want to copy him over, because to me that would mean I'd have two warriors with thunderfury and I feel like if I could just copy a character willy nilly onto a live server it would kind of take away the sense of acheivement for me anyway!
I like the transfer option you stated and the migration to a classic server to weed them down. Classic will always be a nostalgic place people can find themselves in but it won't be as big as it is or was this first time around. On the gold issue however they do it, if you get your actual toon transferred over to a classic server or keep them on the TBC server progression you should get to keep the gold you are bringing. I agree with not being able to copy or if they did they should make the new TBC toon start with 0g to "level the playing field" with the gold aspect of things at the least since some will be coming over with full on T3 and some will be in greens and blues and that should be the only difference between players at that point.
Idk, new tbc servers where everyone just starts at 58 seems clean.
Means we keep vanilla toons and can also play tbc.
Re-levels the playing field so classic players with 10k gold can't breeze through.
I get what you mean about pally/shaman, but that was only ever a rush/grind to 58. No fun there, why not skip it if it's the same for everyone
They need to keep the Classic server just the way it is. Make a new BC server start from lvl 1. Same for LK. The hole point of them making a Classic server is because when they released BC Classic changed thats what we dont want is the change. I want Classic to be Classic BC to stay the way it was an im sure we all want LK too stay just the way it was please stop changing everything.
You have the wrong idea here. 100% blizzard is not looking at classic wow as "lets remake world of warcraft and do it right this time" ala oldschool runescape.
They have WoW already. It makes them a lot of money. They only made classic to make some more money; by giving gamers a chance to relieve the glory days.
WoW future is in the hands of businessmen, not game developers. The only development time they will put into this game is to port old content. They want as many people as possible to jump on the hype waves and know that the fans will settle for whatever is left.
My bet is they release a bunch of TBC servers where everybody gets to start at 58, and leave the classic servers alone. There will be a window where people get to copy their vanilla character over to the new server. But they want to milk sub fees from tbc by letting new players start at 58. Decision will be made by whats better for my bank account over whats better for this game.
Ouroboros70 well I believe they will absolutely do that, and that’s their right to. All I am giving here is my opinion of how TBC should move forward.

Copy would not work ! just imagine me gettin all my guilds gold and best items and all then copy and give back ! THAT WONT WORK its the same when u copy to PTR with all consums and just easy mode
